Some eight and a half months following its initial release, the football sim made its way to Microsoft’s subscription service on June 12. Since it requires the EA Play add-on,EA Sports FC 25is only available via PC Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. It arrives as the XGP catalog’s sixth release in June 2025, followingCrypt Custodian,Symphonia,Baldur’s Gate 1 and 2: Enhanced Editions, theWarhammer 40,000: Space Marineremaster, and therecently releasedBarbie Project Friendship.

It currently holds a “Strong” rating on OpenCritic, with an average score of 76 and a 63% reviewer recommendation rate. For comparison, the previous entry has a 74 average and a 57% recommendation rate on the aggregator platform. On Steam, user reviews classifyEA Sports FC 25as “Mixed,” based on nearly 70,000 player impressions. Meanwhile, its Xbox Store rating—based on over 2,200 reviews—sits at 2.4 stars. Much of the fan criticism centers onEA Sports FC 25’s paid battle passand a perceived lack of meaningful improvements over its predecessor.
June 17 is also the likeliest date when Microsoft will announce the Wave 2 Xbox Game Pass roster for this month. In the meantime, the service is scheduled to lose seven titles on June 15, ranging fromHypnospace OutlawtoRolling Hills: Make Sushi, Make Friends.
