World of Warcrafthas finally brought Horrific Visions Revisited to the game – but the activity has a three-week timegate, along with difficulty scaling issues while using the Construct of Soridormi, that have marred the otherwise exciting feature. Unless Blizzard makes further changes,World of Warcraftplayers won’t be able to unlock several of the new cosmetics from the activity for several weeks, and their lives will be made harder if they attempt to use the Construct of Soridormi.
On April 22,World of Warcraftreleased Patch 11.1.5. However, Horrific Visions Revisited, one of the major parts of the update, has only just arrived nearly a month later, finally bringing the revamped version of theBattle for Azerothactivity with new rewards, challenges, and achievements to the game.
That said, there are a couple of important things fans should be aware of before jumping into this new feature. Firstly, the Hourglass of Horrific Visions – an upgrade system that allows players to research power-ups to help them in the activity’s instances – cannot be completely filled right away, as only a few Echoes of N’Zoth can be earned each week. It will take three weeks in total to unlock every upgrade and earn the We Have the Memories achievement, which is a requirement to purchase several of thecosmetic rewards from Horrific Visions Revisited inWorld of Warcraft.

Additionally, fans have noticed problems with the Construct of Sordormi, a new NPC companion players can recruit to help complete Horrific Visions while solo or in groups. However,as reported by Wowhead, bringing Soridormi along nearly doubles the health of enemies in the instances, even without using any of the difficulty-enhancing Mask affixes. At present, having the Construct of Soridormi around actually makes the feature harder.
Patch 11.1.5 has been troubled since its launch, with some features locked behind month-long timegates, and others going live with tons of bugs and glitches, leading to poor reception by fans.World of Warcraftgame director Ion Hazikostas recently promisedthe devs would “do better next time” – but the problems with Horrific Visions after those words have done little to ameliorate the situation.

There is still hope thatWorld of Warcraftcould address these disappointmentswith hotfixes, or at least explain their reasoning in a blog or forum post. That said, both of these issues were present on the Public Test Realm, so it is hard to say if any changes will be made. Players will have to wait and see if Blizzard will listen to feedback and make any adjustments to Horrific Visions Revisited now that the feature is live.
