EA’sBattlefieldfranchise is set to make its long-awaited return after four years out of the spotlight. One of the most iconic first-person shooter franchises on the market today, the nextBattlefieldgame should be getting its reveal sometime in the next few months. After the disappointing launch state of 2021’s entry,Battlefield 2042, the next game looks to make up for that with a fantastic, polished experience as soon as launch day hits.
Forthe next entry in theBattlefieldseries, EA has brought together four different development studios within its umbrella, colloquially referring to them as Battlefield Studios. This is a major change of pace from the franchise’s previous approach, as the past titles were primarily developed by DICE with some support work done by other teams. Now, four different development teams will be taking on the next game, and one team’s involvement in the single-player component of the game could lead to a surprising Marvel Easter egg.
An Iron Man Easter Egg in Battlefield 6 Wouldn’t Be Too Bizarre
Iron Man’s Developer Is Working On Battlefield 6’s Single-Player Component
AMarvel Easter egg appearing in the nextBattlefieldgamemay not be as unlikely as gamers might think. The upcomingBattlefieldgame will have its single-player component developed by Motive Studio, the team that recently created the 2023 remake ofDead Space. This will serve as the first time Motive Studio has worked on aBattlefieldgame, as its previous works were limited to 2017’sStar Wars Battlefront 2and 2020’sStar Wars: Squadrons.
Alongside this newBattlefieldproject, Motive Studio has also been quietly developinga brand-newIron Mangamein collaboration with Marvel Games. This will be a third-person, single-player game that looks to carve out its own niche alongside the growing library of Marvel titles released over the past years. The game was announced in September 2022, shortly before the release of theDead Spaceremake, but both EA and Motive Studio have been silent on its progress in the years since.
Iron Man Could Fly In During The Next Battlefield Game
Considering thatMotive Studio is working on the newIron Mangame, it wouldn’t be entirely out of the question for the development team to incorporate some kind ofIron ManEaster egg into the next Battlefield campaign. After all, theBattlefieldfranchise is known for incorporating some very memorable Easter eggs, such as the Megalodon inBattlefield 4and the finger gun inBattlefield 5. Motive Studio can uphold the franchise’s tradition of offering players Easter egg hunts while also using this new game to build excitement for theIron Manproject.
If Motive Studio were toimplement Iron Man into theBattlefieldcampaign, it could allow players to perform obscure steps and reward them by having the character fly in at random. Iron Man could even assist the player in a battle by blowing up tanks on the battlefield, and Motive could perhaps even include some kind of voice clip that would tie into the upcomingIron Mangame. Of course, Marvel would have to allow something like that, but it could be a great way for EA and Motive to create hype for this elusive title.

Battlefield 6 Will Arrive Before Motive Studio’s Iron Man Game
After all, the nextBattlefieldgame would most likely have to serve as promotion forIron Man, and not the other way around. EA has recently confirmed that the nextBattlefieldgame will launch sometime during the 2026 fiscal year(which would end on Jul 29, 2025), while the nextIron Mangame does not have any confirmed release window narrowed down. As a result, it would make sense forBattlefieldto integrate anIron ManEaster egg, considering that the latter will probably take a longer time to hit the market.
Considering theBattlefieldfranchise’s penchant for Easter eggs, it wouldn’t be too out of the ordinary to see anIron ManEaster egg integrated into the campaign of the next Battlefield game. With Motive Studio hard at work on the upcoming Marvel title, the team could uphold the franchise’s tradition with some kind of reference to the upcoming game while the project cooks. IfIron Mantakes a long time to develop, inserting such an Easter egg into the nextBattlefieldgame could satiate the fans of both IPs.
