However, information has surfaced recently that is very promising for fans, as it could hint at a release date being announced very soon.
Silksong’s Release Date Could Be Announced at Xbox Games Showcase
After years of waiting for any news, players finally got to see new gameplay ofHollow Knight: Silksongin a recent Nintendo Direct. Though there wasn’t much to show, this short segment confirmed that the game will release at some point in 2025, as well as making its way to the Switch 2.
Amidst the reveals of new Nintendo Switch 2 titles and news on upcoming releases, even this short snippet ofHollow Knight: Silksonggameplay during the Nintendo DirectPartner Spotlight Sizzle Reel was satisfying, knowing that there had been very little revealed about the release in over two years. This sneak peek eased concerns about the state of the game, but the specific release date is still a mystery.

In most regions, the Nintendo website does not reveal a date that the game will be released, but on the Japanese site, it is confirmed thatHollow Knight: Silksongwill release after June 6, and will not be a launch title for the Switch 2.

Though it is unknown when or how early these players will receive their copy of the game, it is unlikely that these will be sent before the release date is publicly announced.
Even if there is no surprise release, it is still possible for the game to release on June 8. Nintendo is reported to be holding aNintendo Direct close to the Switch 2 launch.
