WhileDragon is Deadmay not redefine the genre, it is a very enjoyable experience. After players have defeated all enemies within an area ofDragon is Deadthey will be able to claim a reward chest. Each of these chests will provide a different kind of reward. However, players will want to put some consideration into their choice of chest based on how a run is going.
Players can also do a run with the sole purpose of gaining resources toupgrade before a more serious run. Players should read up on what different chest types will be available to them and which they should consider opening.
Types of Reward Chests in Dragon is Dead
There are three chest types available in the game. Currency chests, Soul Gem chests, and Artifact chests. Players will find a choice of these chests after reaching the end of each of thegame’s dark fantasy-themed areas.
Currency Chests
Currency chests can give players both gold and red gems, but they also give ruby keys. Gold will only be usable during runs, and players will lose all of this resource upon death. Red gems will be kept even upon death. Players should hoard these and push for a good run.
Players can then spend a large haul to improve all weak areas and dominate their next run. Keys will be lost upon a failed run, so they should be used immediately on the nearest chest. These chests can give more gold and red gems but can alsogive permanent items.
Don’t hoard gold if you find something useful you can afford at the moment.
Soul Gem Chests
Soul Gems can provide some amazing passive stat buffs. These can make a character better by increasing critical hits, increasing movement speed, and helping them top up their mana more frequently to have more access to skills.
Artifact Chests
Artifacts are special items that can change how a character plays and how they develop for the current run. Players should pick Artifacts that synergize alongside their chosen skills for the run. However, players will also find gear.
Some weapons will increase certain damage types and even trigger extra effects when using a certain skill. Players will want to use skills that complement these pieces of gear and select artifacts that synergize with this particular playstyle to optimize each run.
Advanced Reward Chests in Dragon is Dead
Each chest has an advanced form. Some players may feel this can sway their choice. However, players should not let this sway their initial choice. Going for an Advanced Soul Gem Chest will not be any more beneficial in a run that is purely to amass red gems.
Which Reward Chests to Pick in Dragon is Dead
Players should focus on serious runs togain as much progress as they can. This will help them establish permanent upgrade unlocks. For these runs, players will want to take Soul Gem Chests and Artifact Chests. Players should pick either of these chests when their other option is a Currency Chest. When they are offered both a Soul Gem Chest and an Artifact Chest, pick whichever one has been opened less.
Once players hit a boss for the first time, it is likely they will fall into combat from having low stats. Players should switch up and go for Currency Chest runs. This will allow them to spend the currency in the hub world to significantly improve their characters to make their next run to push for progress.
