The Seneschals inBlades of Fireare statues holding a specific weapon type that grants bonuses, like new weapon parts to craft different versions of the same weapon. The protagonist, Aran de Lira, can activate them by holding the same weapon type. Doing so will allow Aran to forge more powerful versions of the same weapon by activating new hilts, blade types, handles, and more.
Unlocking more upgrades for the weapons will make them more effective in combat and can change the way the weapons perform afterforging them inBlades of Fire,as Aran utilizes different slashing and stabbing styles based on how the weapon was forged. This guide will show youwhere all the Seneschals are in Besacarr Hamlet.
How To Unlock
Starting Weapon
The Swords Seneschalis located to the left as Aran crosses the bridge. Deal with the Queen’s Hounds in the area, then walk down the gap between the two houses to find the Swords Seneschal.
Equip Aran with a sword and activate the statue, and gain new parts for the sword, making it a much better weapon than the one Aran started out with, capable of one-hitkillingBlade of Fire’s enemies in combat.
Kill 10 Spearmen
After activating the Sword Seneschal, jump down from the platform and take a left. Kill the Queen’s soldier on the boardwalk and then take a right to kill the sleeping soldier, and smash the stack of logs next to him to reveal a gap.
Pass the gap, and theSpears Senesdal will be in front of you, but you’ll get ambushed by a Marauder. Kill it and activate the Spears Senesdal to unlock more parts for the spear.
Kill 60 Axe-Wielding Undead in the Crimson Fort
After getting the Spears Seneschal, head north and take a right up the hill between the house and the cliff wall to locate theTwins Seneschal holding two axes.
If this is your first visit to Besacarr Hamlet, then you won’t yet have access to the Twin Axes. You must kill 60 axe-wielding Putrids at the Crimson Fort.
The maps inBlades of Fireare designed for multiple explorations. If you cannot activate a Seneschal right away, don’t worry—you’re able to easily locate it again later, as it will remain marked on your map until you use it.
Kill 30 Marauders
After finding Twins Seneschal, hug the left side and continue down the path to kill the guard in a hut. Then take a right into a small area with water, and you’ll get attacked by a water elemental. Defeat with the right and left swings of the spear or sword.
You’ll find the Daggers' Seneschal underneath the bridge. To get the forge scroll for this, you must kill 30 Marauders. Some are hidden in houses in the Besacarr Hamlet area, and more are in the Hollow Plain region. Or you can repeatedly kill the one that respawns in the same room as the Spears Seneschal.
Polearms (Warhammers, War Axe, Hyssop)
The first weapon Aran crafts in the Forge of the Gods
The first weapon Aran will forge is the Hyssop in the Forge of the Gods, and he can activate new parts for it by heading south to theTroll River Anvil. Take the sloped hill down into the grass area and defeat the guards in the area.
There’s a miniboss called theMayhem Warmonger;defeat him and take the small path to the left down the hill to the wooden house. There are two guards in this area. Defeat them and activate thePolearm Seneschal.
Kill 60 Claymore-wielding undead in the Hollow Plain region
Go back to the Troll River Anvil and rest if you need to. Then go back to the gate area and take a right. Stop when you see the Queen’s Hounds patrolling and peering down into the swamp. Take a right up a small path behind the houses and you’ll find theGreatsword Seneschal.
You can get your first Greatsword, theClaymore, from the undead inthe Hollow Plain region.
The Claymore is slow, but it is one of the best early weapons in the game, and with timing can decapitate two or more enemies with one swing.
