Resources inDune: Awakeningare scarce, with players required to travel vast distances across an unforgiving desert to hunt for rare resources toupgrade their base, craft weapons, and make armor.

Fortunately,Dune: Awakeninghas a relatively lenient respawn system that periodically refreshes all resources, enemies, and chests in the world for players to restock their depleted stores. For min-maxing purposes, knowing the exact window before something comes back is crucial, as it allows for planning out resource-gathering routes for maximum gain and minimum wait time.

How Long Is the Respawn Timer in Dune: Awakening

From testing, it appears that there are two separate respawn timers active inDune: Awakening, one exclusively for chests and containers and the other for all other resources in the game world, including ores, overworld items, salvage, as well as enemies.

When Do Chests Respawn

Chests respawnevery 45 minutes (real time)inDune: Awakening. This timer starts after the chests have been looted and is exclusive for every player. Unlike resources like Ores, the contents of chests and containers persist for each player separately.

This means that if two players find the same chest, both of them can loot it individually, and they will obtain the full contents; there is no competition here. Therefore, the respawn timer of said chest will also be different for each player. If one player looted the chest at 1:00 and the other looted it at 1:05, the first player’s chest will respawn at 1:45, whereas the other player will find that the chest respawns at 1:50.

Even special chests that contain super rare items like Unique Schematics andSpice-Infused Copper Dustrespawn every 45 minutes.

When Do Resources Respawn

Resources and enemies respawnevery 10 minutes (real time)inDune: Awakening. These include ores like Grindstone and Copper, salvage materials, overworld items like Fuel Cells, as well as enemies.

Special resources like Inteldo not respawn.

Unlike chests, theseresources are sharedacross the server. So, if one player mines an ore deposit, another player who’s standing behind them cannot also mine the same deposit until 10 minutes afterwards when it respawns. Similarly, if a player clears a Scavenger camp, kills all the enemies, picks up all the materials, and breaks down salvage, the second player who comes along will not find anything there until 10 minutes later, except the chest, of course.

For chest, enemy, and resource respawn, player proximity does not matter. If you clear a Scavenger camp and stand in it for 10 minutes, everything will respawn as soon as the timer is up.

Loot inside chests, the number of enemies, and the overworld item spawns are random. For example, if you kill two enemies in a camp, one wielding a gun and the other a knife, you may find that after the respawn timer is up, you’re facing two gun-wielding enemies, three knife-wielding enemies, or even one enemy. It’s a similar case with chests and their contents. However, certain special items are fixed for chests, like thePlasteel Microflora Fiber, which always appears in chests found in shipwrecks.
