Fields of Mistriarecently announced that its next early access update will be in July, bringing many features and mechanics that fans have been eagerly anticipating since its launch in August last year. Since the lastFields of Mistriaupdate, which was in March, players have been enjoying the new winter festival, the arrival of Caldarus, and some new farming and mining equipment designed to improve quality of life.
NPC Studio published an infographic with an overview of what will be included in July’s update. The infographic is split into different sections, from relationship changes with the villagers, different Monster variant combat mechanics, higher Town Renown levels, new Request Board quests, new Saturday Vendors, a new festival, a new skill level cap, an additional home upgrade, greenhouses, and changes to storage chests.
New Socialization in Fields of Mistria
Introduction of Dating to Fields of Mistria
While there aremarriage candidates inFields of Mistriawith a Heart event cap of six, a dating and marriage system hasn’t been implemented yet. July’s update will add dating toFields of Mistria, with Heart events going up to eight. Marriage will still not be implemented. The roadmap also mentions a Best Friend system, which is presumably for the marriage candidates the player doesn’t date, but it’s unknown if players will only be able to choose one Best Friend from the pool of candidates.
AsCaldarus' Heart eventsare tied to progression in the mines, and no mine levels have been stated to be added, it’s unknown how his relationship will progress. Caldarus' Heart events may not be tied to the mines after his six Heart event.
New Town Vendors
Fields of Mistriawill eventually have eight Saturday Market Vendors. Currently, there are four Market Vendors. Two more Vendors will be added with the July update, and players will be able to improve their relationship with them like the other vendors. Data mining by some players has revealed some of the Vendors that may make an appearance, including Stillwell the Fortune Telling Vendor, Zorel the Music Vendor, Wheedle the Chest Game Vendor, and possibly Taliferro, a chef from the Capital who may be a Saturday Market Vendor. Wheedle is a likely candidate to be added, as he has already made an appearance inFields of Mistriaduring Balor’s Heart events.
Improvement to Fields of Mistria’s Current Systems
A Much-Needed Storage Upgrade
Adding larger storage chests and improving the storage chest UI is likely to be welcomed by manyFields of Mistriaplayers.Fields of Mistriaincludes many collectibles, crops, recipes, crafting resources, and decorating items that all need to be stored in chests. As it stands right now, players often need over a dozen chests to store their collectibles, which takes up space and can be confusing. Players don’t need the items in their inventory to craft with them, but it can be difficult to track where a specific item is for quests, and a larger capacity for storage will be a massive help in improvingFields of Mistria’s quality of life.
A New Festival is Coming to Mistria
Alongside the storage upgrade will come a new festival.Fields of Mistriacurrently has three festivals: The Spring Festival, the Shooting Star Festival in Summer, and the Animal Festival in Winter. There are many other festivals planned for Fields of Mistria’s full release that haven’t been implemented yet, including:
NPC Studio hasn’t revealed which festival will be added in July’s update, but it’s likely to be from the above list. As Fall is currently the only season not to have a festival, the one added in July’s update may be one of the two that occur during Fall. As with the other festivals, this one will likely come with new dialogue, food, and decorative items.
