We get it. Everyone keeps saying thatNintendo Switch Welcome Tourshould have just been a pack-in game for Nintendo’s latest console. Still, it’ssurprisinglya decent game with some depth (if you’re a diehardNintendo fanwho wants to take quizzes on how the speakers function, or wants to try a tech demo that has you shaking maracas).

There are a lot of neat little mini-games to experiment with the advanced features of the Switch 2, including a recreation of the first level of the originalSuper Mario Bros.on NES. There are several objectives to complete in the4K tech demo, so here’s how to achieve them all and get the gold medal inWelcome Tour.

Welcome Tour: Super Mario Bros. 4K (1-1) Guide

All Objectives

So, the first time you’ll experience theSuper Mario Bros. 4K tech demois inArea B: Nintendo Switch 2 Console Area. It may seem like just a fun recreation of the first level (and it is), but some people might have trouble 100%ing the tech demo if they’ve never playedSuper Mario Bros.before.

The five objectives are as follows:

The hardest part of the challenge is to find the 1-Up, as it is inside a hidden block somewhere in the level. We’ll show you where it is!

Where’s the 1-Up and Fire Flower in Mario (1-1)?

It might be hard to see the blocks in the image above, but assoon as you pass the fourth pipe(which takes you underground), you will find theinvisible block containing the 1-Up(to hit it,stand in the middle of the two bushes to the right of the pipe and then jump).

When you hop over the gap, hit the next question block to find the Fire Flower. The item will not be the Fire Flower if you didn’t pick up a regular mushroom at the start of the level. So, grab the mushroom before the first pipe, grab the Fire Flower, and then you’ll have to get through the rest of the course without gettinghit by a Goombaor a Koopa.
