Universal Studios Hollywood just dropped major news about the upcomingFast & Furiousride, including a teaser and a few concept images. The newFast & Furiousroller coaster was announced last year, and Universal aims to open the ride in 2026, so construction has already begun.
Fast & Furiousis a well-established movie franchise, and rumors about a new ride had circulated for years before Universal finally announced the project in May 2024. The updates on the ride come at a great time, as Hollywood Driftwill replace Fast & Furious: Supercharged, which closed earlier this year (there’s still aSupercharged ride at Universal Studios Florida). Animal Actors and Special Effects also ceased operations a few years ago to make way for the new attraction.
Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift Sneak Peek
According to a press release,Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift is Universal Studios Hollywood’s first high-speed outdoor roller coaster, reaching speeds of up to 72 MPH. The ride will also feature 360-degree vehicle rotation and sound reduction technology to enhance the experience. The rotation is intended to deliver a drifting experience, as guests will spin while riding at high speeds.

The roller coaster will be located in the Upper Lot of the park, and the experience will begin in the queue area, a garage-like structure that will lead the way to the breathtaking ride. Vehicles will be based on Dominic Toretto’s 1970 Dodge Charger, currently on display at the park. Hollywood Drift is a promising attraction that can add to the experience of guests in the park, and fans are already excited. Meanwhile, guests can look forward to 2025’s Halloween Horror Nights, which will include thelong-awaitedFalloutHaunted Houseand a new experience in collaboration with Five Nights at Freddy’s.
