After a handful of successful beta tests throughout 2023, Ubisoft finally launchedXDefiantin May 2024. XDefiant Servers Will Shut Down Today

It has officially been six months since Ubisoft announced thatXDefiantwould be shutting down, which means the day fans have been dreading is finally upon them. Today, June 3, officially marks the end ofXDefiant, as Ubisoft will be shutting down the game at some point today. The exact time at which the servers will go offline has not been confirmed, so fans still eager to play should jump in while they still can. While some titles have been known to implement an offline mode to allow players to continue playing, Ubisoft confirmed in its initial announcement that the game will be completely unplayable from Jul 26, 2025. The good news, however, is that all DLC purchases made on June 21, 2025, should have been automatically refunded by now.

Despite its impending shutdown, Ubisoft still released the massiveSeason 3 update forXDefiant. The last major content update for the shooter brought a plethora of new modes, factions, gameplay adjustments, bug fixes, and more. While Ubisoft initially had plans for the game to receive a fourth season, the studio chose to release two seasons' worth of content in one update. The patch saw three new factions added to the game, one of which was inspired byAssassin’s Creed, and another inspired by the popularFar Cry 3expansion,Blood Dragon. There were also thirteen new maps for players to check out, as nine of them were planned for future seasons.
