Ronin Warriors Gets a Sequel After 38 Years
Samurai Troopersgot a few sequels and spin-offsin the 1980s and 1990s, butYoroi Shinden Samurai Trooperstakes a different approach. Instead of being a direct sequel to the story or a remake, as is common nowadays,it will feature brand-new characters and introduce a new generation of heroes. Not much has been revealed so far, except that the main character is named Gai, who will be voiced by Hiiro Ishibashi (Yuga Odo inYu-Gi-Oh! Sevens). The main character in the original series was Ryo Sanada, voiced by Takeshi Kusao.
The story will be set in present-day Shinjuku, following five boys who will wear the Yoroi Gear armor and challenge the demon emperor Arago. There is an expectation that the original heroes will make special appearances in the series, but nothing has been confirmed so far. Many classic series often introduce a new generation of heroes who are related by blood to the original characters, but this doesn’t seem to be the case here. Nonetheless, we will need to wait for more information.
