Summary
My Hero Academiais one of the most popular shonen anime around right now. The superhero-themed series is full of unique Quirks and pulse-pounding battles that are amazing to behold.
Midoriya’s journey from a Quirkless hero fanboy to the No. 1 Hero is inspiring and shows why fans can’t get enough of this series. However, like most popular shonen anime, there are some puzzling occurrences inMy Hero Academiathat make no sense when viewers really think about them.
1The Students Are Put In Situations Where They Can Be Seriously Harmed
The Tests And Exams Are A Bit Too Harmful For Heroes-in-Training
At the end of the day, the students in U.A. are kids who shouldn’t be traumatized by every test or exam. However, these kids are regularly placed in situations where they’re exposed to grievous harm.
Kids using powers are bound to go overboard, but all the teachers do is let the violence happen without putting in too much effort to stop things. Barring a few instances where the power wielded by the students was too immense, U.A. has been okay with lettingpromising heroessuffer injuries that they just fix with Recovery Girl.
2Aizawa Not Training To Blink One Eye At A Time
This Should’ve Been A Simple Way To Constantly Use His Quirk
Aizawa’s Erasure Quirk is one of the most useful powersin the series. It can cancel out a Quirk as long as he keeps his eyes open, with blinking cancelling the Quirk negation.
While he has trained himself to keep his eyes open for an irrationally long time, fans can’t help but wonder why he can’t blink one eye at a time. It’s clear that a single eye’s gaze is enough to negate a Quirk’s effects, and Aizawa should’ve mastered this simple trick to nullify any villain standing in his way.
3Midoriya Glazing His Irredeemable Bully
A Person Who Hates Injustice Ignored How Unfairly He Was Being Treated
Midoriya knows how heinous villains are, making it clear that he doesn’t appreciate a person misusing their power. Yet, even after being bullied by a person he calls his friend, Midoriya doesn’t do anything to address this problem.
Instead, it’s almost like he likes validating Bakugo’s horrid behavior. While Kacchan managed to redeem himself after voicing out his insecurities following All Might’s retirement, that still doesn’t excuse his horrid behavior and how no one calls him out for being too mean to Midoriya.
4Quirks Mimicking Human Technology Is Weird
The Limits Of What Quirks Can Be Are All Over The Place
ForQuirks to emulate modern technology, it means that these powers are sentient enough to understand how human technology works. The wave of questions sprung up by this one observation is enough to send one’s mind reeling with unanswered questions.
Quirks like Earphone Jack, Engine, or Tape become weird when this question is posed. Perhaps thinking about fantasy Quirks this much isn’t warranted, but it does make people wonder if a Quirk with futuristic or dated technology can exist, too.
5It’s Hard To Believe That Mineta Was Deemed Worthy To Join Class 1-A
He’s Far From A Promising Hero, Especially Given His Perverted Nature
Class 1-A is supposed to be the cream of the crop, with every hero in this class seemingly destined for greatness. This is why seeing Mineta in this class is so puzzling.
This perverted student shouldn’t be within ten feet of a woman, let alone pretend that his powers are strong enough to fight against the strongest villains in the series. He’s a hated character because of how useless and lecherous he is, and his taking a spot in Class 1-A over another deserving hero is insulting.
6The Wild, Wild Pussycats Drop Way Too Far In The Hero Rankings
The Loss Of One Hero Shouldn’t Cause Them To Lose So Many Positions
The Wild, Wild Pussycats is a group of four effective heroes who were 32nd in the Hero Rankings. So, one can’t help but wonder why the loss of a single hero dropped them all the way to Rank 411.
Ragdoll was just a single hero, and the others could’ve pulled their weight in her absence. Instead, they dropped almost 400 places in the Hero Rankings, which is a bit too excessive in the eyes of many.
7Chisaki Trying To Eliminate Eri’s Quirk Would’ve Thrown A Wrench In His Plans
His Operation Revolved Around Using Eri’s Blood To Weaponize Her Quirk
Overhaul may be a heinous villain, but he’s not stupid. Eri’s blood was the sole reason why his crime syndicate was loaded with money, and even bluffing to negate her Quirk seems completely out of character for him.
The villain firing a Quirk-negating bullet at Eri was just a contrived way for Lemillion to lose his powers. It’s weird how he risked his biggest cash cow in a stupid gamble, but this moment proved that Mirio wasn’t going to back down even after he lost his Quirk.
8Midoriya Didn’t Seem Like The Best Candidate To Inherit One For All
Nighteye’s Comments About One For All’s Succession Were On The Money
When Midoriya meetsSir Nighteyefor the first time, he is rightfully questioned as to why a Quirkless boy was chosen to inherit One for All. Most people agree that Mirio would’ve been a good fit for this Quirk, especially since All Might was familiar with this promising hero’s power and thirst for righteousness.
Sure, Midoriya’s natural heroism makes him a very good candidate, but he needed to train extensively to become worthy of wielding One for All, and even then, it was hard for him to use 100% of this power. A lot of these problems could’ve been negated by choosing a valid candidate like Lemillion instead.
