Last of Us TV Show Creator Confirms Kaitlyn Dever’s Abby Will Take the Reins in Season 3
During the recent Emmys FYC event (reported byThe Hollywood Reporter), which celebrated the second season ofThe Last of Us,Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann finally confirmed what fans of the video game already knew and that’s that Kaitlyn Dever’s character Abby will be the main focus of season 3, leaving Ellie to take a backseat.For those who haven’t playedThe Last of Us Part 2, this news means thatfans will see Abby Anderson’s perspective of events, the same as viewers did with Ellie, when the show shifts into its third season. Druckmann also revealed that they were shocked that the network allowed them to change the show’s framework and gave them complete creative freedom going forward for the series.
“But the decisions are just what the story required, and even now, it’s like I can’t believe that they let us structure the series in this way. Meaning, like we just ended season two, and season three is going to be starring — spoiler alert — Kaitlyn.”
