Squid Gameis the most popular TV series on Netflix. The South Korean survival psychological thriller became an instant hit when it debuted on the streaming platform in 2021. It dominated the charts for weeks.Squid GameSeason 2was as successful when Netflix dropped it in December of last year. Fans are overjoyed after learning that its third and final season is coming out in June because they don’t have to wait long, especially since the second season ended with a major cliffhanger.
Netflix dropped the first official trailer forSquid GameSeason 3. It confirms that the final season will be as bloody as the other seasons and possibly even scarier. It features a new version of the infamous Red Light, Green Light from Season 1, with a significant twist — adding a skipping rope. While it’s not clear what the rules are, this obviously ups the ante in the deadly game. The trailer also gives fans a glimpse of the other games present in the finale, such as a room with stars, which also appears to be a maze. The clip suggests that the players are divided into teams, blue and red, as they navigate the room because, in one scene, the shaman, or Player 044, seems to be leading the blue team. However, in another twist, it appears they have to kill those from another team because Cho Hyun-ju (Park Sung-hoon), wearing a blue vest, is seen fighting another player wearing a red vest. So, they may have to fight each other while in the maze. In the teaser released in May,the players have to get one ball— either red or blue — from a giant gumball machine. The colors of their ball determine their team.
Season Three OfSquid GamePromises To Be The Deadliest Of Them All
Aside from the exciting games, the trailer also promises anemotional season with Gi-hun(Lee Jung-jae) questioning why they kept him alive and Hwang In-ho (Lee Byung-hun) revealing his identity as the Front Man to presumably Gi-hun since he asked the question “Do you still have faith in people?” For sure, Gi-hun will be heartbroken at the realization that the man he once considered a trusted friend just manipulated them because he is among the people behind the fatal game he badly wants to end. In another scene, Myung-gi (Im Si-wan) can be seen encouraging the pregnant Kim Jun-hee (Jo You-ri) to fight back to survive because they have to make it out alive, probably because they have a baby on the way.
The stakes are high inSquid GameSeason 3. With the games being more dangerous, more deaths are expected. Also, Gi-hun can be seen in the finalist suit, suggesting he is probably among the players playing the final game. In an earlier interview, Jung-jae shared that the most challenging scene to film was “the last round” in Season 3. So, it’s likely that he is indeed among the final players in the tournament. Fans have been attached to several players in Season 2, especially because many are returning in Season 3. Aside from Gi-hun, many want Myung-gi, Jun-hee, Dae-ho (Kang Ha-neul), Geum-ja (Kang Ae-Shim),Yong-sik (Yang Dong-Geun) and Hyun-juto survive. It remains unclear if only one will survive this time, but fans hope the series will end with many survivors, unlike the first season.
