Taskmasteris easily one of the funniest shows on TV, with the titular Taskmaster, Greg Davies, judging comedians and other personalities who attempt bizarre tasks under the guidance of Little Alex Horne. With the show reaching an impressive 20 seasons, fans have now seen one hundred contestants, and that isn’t even counting special episodes and spinoffs outside ofthe UK.

While the best contestants onTaskmastercould simply be ranked by the highest scoring individuals, the main aim of the show is entertainment and laughs. Therefore, the following could be considered thefunniest contestants onTaskmaster, often thanks to wacky takes, lateral thinking, and a knack for causing pure chaos.

Taskmaster - Channel 4 - Tim Key - S1 E5

6Tim Key

The Original Taskmaster Rebel

Taskmasterhas seen many contestants who think outside of the box, but that arguably all started with Tim Key in series 1. Rebellious and cheeky, Tim pushed tasks in ways Alex wasn’t expecting, and was also infamous for hisattempts at cheating.

Highlights of his include an ingenious way to throw a tea bag into a mug, lying about a charity in order to receive a high-five, and a hilarious home-made blooper where a mannequin in his iconic red pants ended up stuck in the garden. However, none of that arguably tops the cheeky look on Tim Key’s face when he was attempting to cheat in the task where they had to empty a bathwithoutremoving the plug.

Taskmaster - Channel 4 - Nish Kumar - S5 E1

5Nish Kumar

Contestants don’t necessarily have to be good atTaskmasterto be funny, and that is especially true for Nish Kumar, who proudly holds the record for lowest points achieved since the show switched to 10 episodes per series. Nish’s highlights (or lowlights) includebasketball attempts, failures in the sand, and best of all, a moment where Greg pulled him aside for a pep talk like a teacher with a struggling student.

Despite many hilarious failures, Nish redeemed himself with a terrific performance alongside Mark Watson when they performed A Song for a Stranger, with Nish’s vocals and guitar skills impressing all. Despite all of the highs and lows, Nish brought so much joy to series 5 by loving every single moment of it.

Taskmaster - Channel 4 - Noel Fielding - S4 E1

4Noel Fielding

Barely Anything Beats His Banana Disguise

It’s hard to pin down exactly what makes Noel Fielding so funny, especially onTaskmaster, but a number of his highlights land him a guaranteed spot on the list of best contestants. In his yellow skeleton outfit, Noel always stood out, at least until he was asked todisguise himself, which he did as a tiny banana in a bowl of fruit, making for one of the best moments in the show’s history.

Other Noel Fielding highlights onTaskmasterinclude making Little Alex Horne into an exotic sandwich, which he unfortunately had to eat, some surprisingly good football skills, and a cute dinosaur dance alongside Alex to the sound of an old-school ringtone.

Taskmaster - Channel 4 - Katherine Ryan - S2 E1

3Katherine Ryan

An Unmatched Commitment To Entertainment

Having won Series 2 ofTaskmaster, Katherine Ryan is not only one of the most entertaining contestants but also one of the most successful. One of her most iconic moments was shocking Greg by purchasing him a spot of land so that he could technically be called Lord Greg Davies. Over the course of the series and on her returns, such as in the Champions of Champions episodes, Katherine would continue this gag by calling the Taskmaster his Lordship whenever possible.

Speaking of Katherine Ryan’s Champions of Champions appearance, never has a contestant shown so much commitment to entertainment as when she was asked to create the biggest mess. She called up her own sister to falsely inform her that she was being cheated on. The subsequent conversations involving her dad, too, were incredibly funny to watch. Thankfully, her familycalled out her bluff, and all was well.

Taskmaster - Channel 4 - Bob Mortimer - S5 E1

2Bob Mortimer

One Of The Most Unpredictable Contestants

Bob Mortimer was always going to be an unpredictable contestant onTaskmaster, and his bizarreness absolutely delivered. While he was great at tasks that relied on capability, with him going on to win the series, Bob’s best moments occurred duringcreativetasks.

For example, his artistic stop-motion film, where he pushed a banana in and out of his eyes, was simply exceptional, and he made a bar chart out of beach items depicting a stat only Bob Mortimer could come up with. His crowning achievement, however, occurred during his Champions of Champions appearance when he brought a creepy yet edible mask to life as an alien with a Geordie accent who had sinned.

Taskmaster - Channel 4 - Rhod Gilbert - S7 E1

1Rhod Gilbert

A Madman Dedicated To Embarrassing Greg & Alex

Rhod Gilbert is easily one of the best contestants to ever set foot on theTaskmasterstage, arguably causing the most chaos in one of thebest seasons ofTaskmaster. His friendship with Greg led to many personal prize task submissions, which almost always involved an embarrassing picture of Greg in his Speedos. Best of all, when it came to Rhod’s prize tasks, however, was acreepy recordingof him inside Greg’s wardrobe, watching the Taskmaster sleep.

Outside of prize tasks, Rhod developed a reputation as a true madman, and neither Alex nor the viewers ever knew what was coming next. When Rhod put his face in his hands to concentrate, all knew he was cooking up something good. Highlights of his include tying Alex up so that he himself couldn’t be untied, throwing a spear with a task on it into the caravan, and a rather exposing quick-change display where the Taskmaster’s assistant was embarrassed once more.
