10Sexy Foxy - Foxy Pirates
Brimming With Trickery And Deviousness
Considering Foxy’s success when it comes to deception, theSexy Foxyexhibits a devious personality that is on par with, if not greater than, its captain’s. It is filled with several deadly traps, from rooms with completely spiked floors to trapdoors that spit their victims out of the ship.
As if to play the part of the quote “as sly as a fox,” the ship is adorned with a fox’s head, tail, and paws that can trap smaller pirate ships. The little fame Foxy has for his Davy Back Fights would be non-existent without this ship.
9Polar Tang - Heart Pirates
The Silent Predator Beneath The Waves
When it comes to being sneaky and undetectable, leave it to thePolar Tang. As a submarine, it loves to pop up at just the right moment to save the day. Without it,One Pieceprobably would have ended at Marineford, along with Luffy’s dreams, as the unconscious Straw Hat Captain would’ve been unable to escape.
Its personality reflects that of its captain, whose movement, unless right before one’s eyes, is very unpredictable. As one of the most unique vessels to sailthe Grand Line and beyond, it is a shame the Polar Tang got destroyed by unfortunate circumstances.
8Victoria Punk - Kid Pirates
A Heavy Metal Monster
While the Victoria part of its name originates fromthe deceased childhood friend of Kidand Killer, the Punk part is the perfect fit for this beast of a ship. Decorated with a dinosaur skull as the figurehead, dinosaur ribs on the side, and another skull on the deck behind the already menacing figurehead, this ship screams edgy and wild, rebelliousness at its peak.
It perfectly complements the Kid Pirates' tyrannical and defiant nature. Sadly, this defiant nature led toVictoria Punk’sdestruction by Dorry and Brogy, and its remnants are probably splattered across the New World’s seabed.
7Grudge Dolph - Hawkins Pirates
The Sailing Curse
Bedecked with several voodoo dolls and giant nails that are in tune with Hawkins’ eerie aura and his devil fruit abilities, theGrudge Dolphlooks like something out of the workshop of a wizard shipwright. It has such an ominous vibe that one would expect dark, thunderous clouds to accompany it everywhere.
Everything about this ship seems ritualistic and cursed, right down to the cabin, which is unsurprisingly made out of straws, and a large candle that seems to count the crew’s days. Laying eyes on this ship feels like the trigger for an unfortunate day—or an unfortunate life.
6Queen Mama Chanter - Big Mom Pirates
Sweet Tooth Horror
If one is trying to put a stop to their sweet tooth tendencies, theQueen Mama Chanteris the one place to avoid. It displays everything sweet and tasty, from candy canes and wafers on different sides to a large two-tiered cake behind its clown figurehead.
Not only does the ship portray a delightfully horrid personality, looking to trap its opponents in layers of icing and flour, but it is also alive.Thanks to Big Mom’s Devil Fruit, it gleefully sings the word “Ship” as it sails the seas and has even been shown to express fear when damaged.
5The Ark Maxim - Enel
The Divine War Machine
Built bythe Divine Squad of Skypiea, albeit forcefully, this ship exudes an otherworldly persona just like its owner, the self-proclaimed god Enel. Despite its massive structure, embellished with a throne and a large golden face towering above it, it is capable of flight, all the way to the moon. It even has a failsafe for its power supply.
Aside from mirroring personalities with Enel,The Ark Maximalso aids him in launching unconventional and devastating attacks. It can create storm clouds that pair almost too perfectly with Enel’s Goro Goro No Mi, making it more of a holy weapon than a ship.
4Hitsugibune - Dracule Mihawk
Death In A Dinghy
Minimalist? Yes. Menacing? Absolutely. TheHitsugibuneis more of a raft, but the adventures it has been through and the seas it has crossed make it worthy of being referred to as a ship. With a mast that looks like a crucifix and green-flamed candles on both sides, this ship’s morbid disposition is in line with its name, which means “Coffin Boat,” and its structure, which looks like its name.
Big enough for just one man, this ship proves that when a character has as much aura and presence as Mihawk, they need nothing else to traverse the Grand Line.
3Thriller Bark - Thriller Bark Pirates
The Horror House Of The Seas
Originally an island,Thriller Barkis one of the largest ships inOne Piece,if not the largest. It is home to a graveyard, an undead forest filled with zombies resembling Frankenstein, and a crew with a gothic personality. The ship itself expresses the same ghostly aura, with the thick fog and props one would expect in a horror movie.
In retrospect, the ship was the movie, as it was thelocation for the Thriller Bark arc. It was destined to wander the Florian Triangle after Gecko Moria’s defeat, but he came back to reclaim it, using it to sail to Pirate Island.
2Thousand Sunny - Straw Hat Pirates
Franky’s Reliable Masterpiece
TheThousand Sunnymay not have the same emotional ties to the Straw Hats as its predecessor, but its reliable nature makes it one of the best ships inOne Piece. Built from the strongest and finest wood, it is the culmination of the wishes of each Straw Hat with regard to their new home, and is as sturdy as they come.
As Franky’s lovechild,the ship has a ton of featuresthat have saved its merry crew multiple times, especially the Coup de Burst that serves as their last resort when escaping, and they treat this vessel like a part of the crew.
1Going Merry - Straw Hat Pirates
The Ship That Was Like Family
Nothing will tug at the heartstrings of the Straw Hats like theGoing Merry, the crew’s first official ship. It may not have been the best ship in terms of sturdiness or function, but it endured the rough seas as best it could and was loved and taken care of to the point that it developed a Klabautermann.
The Going Merry’s Klabautermann could sail and repair the ship independently, and even reveal itself to those who care for it. When it finally could not take any more, the Going Merry receiveda touching Viking funeral at Water 7.
