InTainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon, players can find a lot of ominous things in its Dark Fantasy setting, and one of these things is a huge lake filled with blood that is displayed as a welcoming mat for the players' first setting foot in Avalon. However, the lake itself holds an even more gruesome secret, which will have players delving into a hidden dungeon and slaying a powerful boss.
Players are advised to prepare properly before trying this, as it is one of the hardest bosses in the early game, and unfit for level 2-3 players that have just landed after the shipwreck. Now, let’s start by locating the secretBlood Lakedungeon.
Warning. The following guide contains spoilers for the ‘Blood Stains the Circle’ quest. Readers are advised to proceed with caution.

Turn to the statue and walk towards the small beach, and the Lake will soon reveal a bloody scene of carnage. Deal with the Undead swarming around the corpses, and if players have ashovel, they candig out a chestcontaining some loot. If they swim to the statue and pray to it, they will receive theBlood Transfusionspell.
Now, swim across the sticky red liquid, thendive behind the statueand continue to stick to the bottom and head towards the ruins that reveal a small opening. Playersshould be around level 10-12to try this dungeon in the Normal difficulty, or around level 8 in Easy (Adventure) mode. Needless to say, difficulty levels beyond Normal (Survival, Hardcore, etc.) will require an extreme level of skill to beat.
How to Beat Mallory: The Last Man
Malloryis the firstmini-bossplayers will find in this bizarre-looking cave, and if they approach and talk to him for a bit, they can make a few checks using Strength or Spirituality to dig out more information about what awaits beyond the gates he is guarding, and this will progress the Blood Stains the Circlequest. Be it as it may, this will end with a fight, where Mallory will compel the players to try and slay him as part of some wicked ritual.
Once the battle starts, stick to the walls of the room, and attract the boss to make him circle around the debris and candlesticks that will serve as a barrier for his attacks. For ranged players, they can use this as a way to cheese him into submission with ease. Melee players will have it a little tougher, but they can do a similar thing by circling around and waiting for him to drop his three-swing combo, then hitting Mallory with everything they’ve got to make him exhausted.
Once players defeat Mallory, they can loot the body for some interesting loot, like theSword of Parrying +1, theChestplate of the Last Man, aCracked Shield +2, and theFace of the Last Man, which aresome decent items for a warriorwho is just starting their adventure.
Exploring the Antechamber
The door of the dungeon will open, and players can now enter an antechamber with a tree growing in the center. There’s a lot of interesting loot here that is going to be detailed next. verify to grab all this since it will be extremely useful later during the adventure:
Once players are finished with this room, the next thing to do is to search around the glowing tree’s roots for a passage that leads into a maze-like zone. Players will explore this area next, and they should be extremely careful with the enemies that lie there.
To avoid losing progress, players should go to the Game tab in the option menu, then go to ‘Auto Save Frequency’ and set it as low as possible (3 minutes is recommended, but players can set it to 1 minute if they want to). That way, they won’t need to restart all over if they die mid-exploration.
How To Find Prydwen in Blood Stains The Circle
The next area of this hidden dungeon will be a maze called Hall of Trials, which is affected by the Wyrdness and filled to the brim with undead druids and monsters. Luckily, the druids won’t be aggressive (unless players attack them), so their attention should be focused on the many creatures hidden there.
The most notorious one will be the Marrowghast, which can rush and attack at melee range or shoot projectiles that cause poisoning, and the Wyrdspirits, which are extremely hard to target. So be careful not to be overrun by these creatures. The image below is an overlook of the maze.
It is highly recommended that players equip theSoulstonehere and start charging it by killing the enemies inside the Hall of Trials. Once its fully charged, they should keep it equipped to face the final boss of this dungeon.
To the northern left corner lies an NPC namedPrydwen, the leader of the druids and the one players should talk to to proceed further into the dungeon. To the right side, there’s a chest tucked into a corner, guarded by a Marrowghast and a Wyrdspirit, that holds the useful ‘Hexbounce Wand,’ a unique magic weapon that can block projectiles (including arrows and spells) and throw them back at the attacker.
When players are done exploring the area, they should talk to Prydwen, and the druid will tell them that the Abomination they have created lies hidden in a sealed chamber. He will grant them a seal to activate the blood-gemstone door. Players should ready themselves for the true boss of this dungeon: The Blood Abomination.
How To Beat The Blood Abomination
Open thesealed door in the Halls of Trials to descend into yetanother blood pool, and after a cutscene, theBlood Abominationwill emerge from the depths of this crimson goo. Now players need to fight with everything they have, and here’sthe fastest way to defeat this boss:
If players equipped have theSoulstoneequipped and charged, they will save themselves from death at least one time, which will grant them an extra chance to deal even more damage to the Abomination and slay it once and for all.
Once defeated, loot the boss’s corpse to get theCursed Bloodblade, a one-handed sword that increases life steal by 2%, and proceed further inside the chamber to find a chest with a few extra things like potions and crafting materials. The room below is the entrance to the dungeon, so don’t drop. Instead, turn back and go back to report to Prydwen, tofinish the questand receive the finalrewards.
How To Complete Blood Stains The Circle In Tainted Grail The Fall Of Avalon
Talking to Prydwen will give players the extra part of the lore missing about the sinister experiment going on in the druid circle, and finish the Blood Stains the Circle quest, rewarding them with theWinged Spear.
This weapon increases damage by a whopping 100% when players are below 50% mana. A useful item for a druid summoner build, since it will use up to 50% mana to summon creatures, then receive the buff of the spear to attack at melee range while the summons swarm foes. It is a pretty decent build that will take players a long way before they need to switch to a more specialized build.
Once Prydwen thanks the players with some juicy rewards, he will immediately pass away. The remaining ‘undead’ druids will remain neutral, so don’t worry too much about them. Still, players should take note of what happened inside this secret Blood Lake dungeon, since it has ties to the main storyline ofTainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon, and it willhelp them make an important choicefurther ahead in the adventure.
