Summary
The brokenWWE 2K18Switch port finally works properly, but only if you play it on the Nintendo Switch 2. WhenWWE 2K18launched for the Nintendo Switch, it marked the first time that a main series WWE game was released on a Nintendo console sinceWWE ‘13on the original Wii. Unfortunately,WWE 2K18on the Switch left a lot to be desired and didn’t really provide an experience comparable to the other versions of the wrestling game.
WWE 2K18on Switchwas notorious for its technical problems, to the point where it was practically unplayable, especially in any matches that included more than two wrestlers. Now, eight years later, anyone that still has a copy ofWWE 2K18for the Nintendo Switch lying around can load it up on the Switch 2 and have a much better experience than they did on the OG Switch back in the day.
WhileWWE 2K18does not have aNintendo Switch 2 Edition upgradelike some other Switch 1 games, it still benefits from the Switch 2’s added horsepower. Playing the Switch 1 version ofWWE 2K18on the Switch 2 is a massive improvement, even without an update. As seen in a video uploaded by RGT 85,WWE 2K18can easily handle the match types that the Switch 1 simply couldn’t. This revelation should be exciting for those that still have their Switch 1 version ofWWE 2K18lying around, but those that want to try it out may hit a roadblock.
WWE 2K18 Runs Way Better on Nintendo Switch 2
WWE 2K18is not available digitally on the Switch 1. The game was delisted from all digital storefronts years ago,as is the norm for WWE video games. Not only that, but prices forWWE 2K18Switch 1 physical releases are out of control, with many on eBay listing it for around $60. Add in the fact thatWWE 2K18online was shut down ages ago, and it means that anyone wanting aWWE 2Kgame on Switch 2 is likely out of luck. For now.
WWE 2K18is, at the time of this writing, the onlyWWE 2Kgame playable on Nintendo’s latest platform. However, that should change in the near future. 2K has confirmed that it is bringingWWE 2Kto the Nintendo Switch 2, though specifics on that front have yet to be revealed. It’s possibleWWE 2K25will be getting ported to the Switch 2, but it could also be that fans will have to wait untilWWE 2K26drops next year. Whatever the case may be, those that already ownWWE 2K18can tide themselves over now that the game has finally been fixed.
