Summary
The main plot ofMy Hero Academiais centered on Izuku Midoriya and his time at U.A. High School, the most prestigious hero school in all of Japan. While there, not only did he learn how to become an efficient Pro Hero, but he also met many friends and allies who changed his life forever. Needless to say, some of the strongest Pro Heroes have attended this school and graduated from it, but it’s not the only hero academy that was introduced in the series.
Ketsubutsu, Shiketsu, and Isamu are some of the other important hero schools in this fictional version of Japan, and they are all responsible for shaping the lives of strong students who eventually became powerful heroes on the same level as U.A. High School’s alumni. Needless to say, the world ofMy Hero Academiais full of students from other hero schools, and the following are the absolute strongest ones in the series.
8Shikkui Makabe (Mr. Smith)
Ketsubutsu Academy High School
Most characters from other hero schools in Japan were introduced during the Provisional Hero License Exam Arc, with one of the most prominent groups being the third-year students of Ketsubutsu Academy High School. One of its most memorable members isShikkui Makabe, who confronts U.A.’s Class 1-A alongside his classmates during the first round of the exam.
Shikkui’s quirk, Stiffening, is the direct opposite of Kirishima’s quirk, since instead of hardening his own body, it allows him to harden other objects. With it, he can make something as mundane as rubber balls feel heavy and dense, as if they were made of concrete. It’s an efficient quirk when used correctly, especially when he combines it with Itejiro Toteki’s quirk, Boomerang. While Shikkui was not on the same level as Class 1-A, he still managed to get his provisional hero license and later became a Pro Hero after he graduated.
7Itejiro Toteki (Boomerang Man)
Itejiro Totekiis another third-year student from Ketsubutsu who seems to prefer working closely with his classmate, Shikkui Makabe. In his case, he wields the Boomerang quirk, which allows him to control the trajectory of any projectile he throws, and can even make them hone in on any target.
He seems to be on the same level as Shikkui Makabe in terms of strength, especially considering their two quirks work better when combined, but Itejiro seems to be slightly more efficient than his friend because he came up with a useful Ultimate Move called Trajectory: Crescent Moon, which he uses to make the projectiles travel underground to catch his opponents by surprise. Like the other Ketsubutsu students, Itejiro successfully obtained his provisional hero license, graduated after the Final War, and became a Pro Hero.
6Camie Utsushimi (Illus-o-Camie)
Shiketsu High School
Shiketsu High School is the only other hero school in Japan that can match U.A. High School in terms of prestige and efficiency, so, naturally, most of its students are also extremely strong, intelligent, and capable. One of them isCamie Utsushimi,a second-year student who wields Glamour, one of the most versatile and impressive quirks in the entire series.
With her powers, Camie can create visual and auditory illusions so big that they can fill entire rooms, not to mention that they look so lifelike that she can even trick other heroes and villains with them, including All For One. Needless to say, Camie may not be physically strong, but she specializes in strategic mind games to overcome her opponents, which is why she became a Pro Hero after graduating, and she’s now working with her friend and ex-classmate, Seiji Shishikura, as his sidekick.
5Romero Fujimi
Isamu Academy High School
TheMy Hero Academiaanime did an excellent job of expanding this fascinating world by introducing more hero schools that never appeared in the manga, with the most prominent example being Isamu Academy High School, whose students were the stars of theTraining of the DeadOVA.Isamu Academy’s most noteworthy student is undoubtedlyRomero Fujimi, who wields an incredibly bizarre and dangerous quirk called Zombie Virus.
It allows him to emit a pink gas that turns anybody who inhales it into mindless zombies, and it’s so surprisingly efficient that he was able to turn the entire Class 1-A of U.A. High School into zombies with it. The only downside to this quirk is that Romero himself is not immune to his power and needs to wear a gas mask over his mouth whenever he’s using it. Considering his arrogant and competitive personality, it’s implied that he’s one of the strongest students at his school, similarly to his newfound rival, Katsuki Bakugo.
4Nagamasa Mora (Chewyee)
InMy Hero Academia, the class representatives of the hero school’s classes are often some of the most efficient and remarkable students in them,andNagamasa Morafrom Shiketsu’s second-year class is no exception. In his few appearances, he proved to be a brilliant student and a skilled leader who deserved the title of class representative.
On top of that, his quirk, Extend-o-Hair, is incredibly useful, as it allows him to grow his hair at unnatural lengths and freely manipulate every single strand as if they were tentacles. As a result, he can cover large areas, capture his opponents, and even create a durable armor with his long hair. Although Horikoshi never confirmed if Nagamasa became a Pro Hero like his classmates, he did very well during the Provisional Hero License Exam and was even part of the Final War, so he must have become one after graduating.
3Seiji Shishikura (Shishikross)
Among Shiketsu High School’s impressive alumni,Seiji Shishikurais one of the most notorious, not only because of his prideful personality and his intimidating hero costume (which makes him look like a villain), but also because his quirk,Meatball, is one of the strangest and most disturbing ones in the series.
With this power, Seiji can manipulate human flesh, which allows him to create flying flesh projectiles that can either keep himself and his allies afloat or turn any opponents who touch them into meatballs that can’t move. Despite the disgusting nature of this quirk, it’s incredibly efficient, and it has allowed Seiji to immobilize multiple opponents at the same time. It should be no surprise to learn that he eventually played a key role in the Final War. He graduated from Shiketsu High School and, eight years later, he became the #41 Pro Hero of Japan.
2Yo Shindo (Grand)
There’s no denying thatYo Shindois the most memorable and powerful student from Ketsubutsu Academy’s third-year class. This is mostly thanks to his incredible quirk, Vibrate, which allows him to generate potent vibrations and shockwaves that can travel through any medium, to the point that he’s even able to create devastating earthquakes that can immobilize any opponent in the area.
Shindo not only passed the exam and obtained a provisional hero license, but he was even able to put up a good fight against the infamous villain, Muscular, although he unfortunately needed Izuku Midoriya to save him. It seems this was just a bad match-up for Shindo, because he’s clearly strong enough to have participated in the Final War, come out of it alive, graduate, and become Japan’s #20 Pro Hero eight years later.
1Inasa Yoarashi (Gale Force)
While all the other prominent Shiketsu High School students that were introduced during the Provisional Hero License Exam Arc – like Camie, Seiji and Nagamasa – were second-year students,Inasa Yoarashiwas actually from the school’s first-year class, and yet he was able to surpass all of them and become one of the #16 Pro Hero of Japan eight years after graduating.
This is becauseInasa has one of the most powerful and versatile quirks in the series, Whirlwind, which allows him to freely control the surrounding air, meaning that he can generate devastating tornadoes, whirlwinds, and hurricanes with it, but he can also use it to fly around at high speeds. During the Final War Arc, Inasa was able to heavily turn the tide of battle against All for One thanks to his excellent quirk, especially when he worked alongside Fumikage Tokoyami and Gigantomachia. Combined with his energetic and hardworking personality, it’s no surprise that Inasa Yoarashi was able to become one of the highest-ranked Pro Heroes of the country, and he’s definitely on the same level as some of U.A. High School’s best, like Shoto Todoroki, Katsuki Bakugo, and Izuku Midoriya.
