Stellar Bladehas been out on PC for less than a week but has already sold over 1 million copies on the platform. Shift Up’s hack-and-slash action RPG was already a marked success on PlayStation, so expectations were high leading up to its much-requested PC debut. Now that sales figures forStellar Blade’s PC port are starting to roll in, it’s safe to say it’s a hit on its latest platform, too.

Shift UpreleasedStellar Bladeon PC on June 11, just over a year after its April 2024 PS5 release date. The studio also brought several big changes to the game to celebrate its expansion, including new Nano Suits, voiceover and facial animation support for more languages, and a new boss fight. All the fanfare seems to have paid off, asStellar Bladedid not take long to have one of the biggest PC debuts for a former PlayStation exclusive.

It took less than 24 hours forStellar Bladeto pass 100,000 concurrent playerson Steam, making it just the second Sony-published title to exceed that mark, falling in second place toHelldivers 2.This impressive PC performance has kicked overallStellar Bladesales beyond 3 million copies sold on all platforms.

Stellar Blade Took Only 3 Days to Sell 1 Million Copies on PC

There could still be more in store for Shift Up’s smash hit. A recent insider presentation from the company indicates thatStellar Bladecould come to Xbox Series X or Nintendo Switch 2, though it’s unclear if that’s what the studio meant when it referred to an upcoming “platform expansion.” Given the title’s success on PC, it would make sense if Sony and Shift Up wanted to gain an even larger player base by bringing it to additional systems. Even if it never launches on competitor consoles, though,Stellar Bladehas been a breath of fresh air in an uneven lineup of PC ports for former PlayStation exclusives.

Sony has brought several of its once-exclusive franchises to PC with varying degrees of success. Some, likeGhost of TsushimaandGod of War, have seen strong sales and review performance. At the same time,Marvel’s Spider-Man 2launched on PC to mixed reviewsafter widespread technical issues. The Last of Us Part 2 Remasteredfell somewhere in the middle, seeing a solid player count but less than other Sony-published titles. WithStellar Blade, though, Sony has an undeniable success on its hands, so it will be interesting to see how things play out for future PC ports.
