TheNintendo Switch 2isn’t set to launch until later this week, but some customers have already gotten their consoles early. Nintendo’s latest mainline system is almost here, and pre-orders have been selling out as quickly as they are coming in. Retailers like Walmart and GameStop have been taking steps to ensure that theirNintendo Switch 2pre-orders aren’t being taken advantage of by bots or scalpers, but this isn’t a guarantee that consumer demand will be met during the console’s early release period.
With the Switch 2’s June 5 launch date fast approaching, fans who have already secured their console are anxiously waiting for their pre-orders to arrive, but there have been a fair number of roadblocks and complications due to the high demand for the new system. Some Walmart customers have been receiving emails saying that theirSwitch 2 orders have been canceleddue to a payment error, and they aren’t certain that the issue will be fixed in time for the big launch day. Elsewhere, it seems that some gamers are getting their Switch 2 consoles ahead of schedule.
Reddit user unknownbystander recently shared an image from a Nintendo Switch 2 customer in the Middle East that indicates they have gotten their console ahead of theSwitch 2 June 5 launch date. According toComicbook.com, there have also been reports of Switch 2 units arriving in Lebanon and Dubai, with some sightings also being claimed in Russia and Hong Kong.
Switch 2 Orders Are Arriving Early
Of course, getting the Switch 2 early doesn’t mean that the lucky customer will be able to jump intoMario Kart Worldright away. A day-one patch isrequired to play physical Switch 2 games, and there is currently no way to purchase and download digital titles from the Nintendo eShop. Because of this, any Switch 2 units reaching their rightful owners before June 5 are essentially unplayable until the big update comes.
