The release date ofSolo Levelingseason 3 is not yet confirmed, but many fans are already looking forward to the thrilling events that will unfold ahead. One major highlight will likely involve Cha Hae-In’s redemption as she steps up and proves herself as thestrongest female hunter ever. While fans have seen glimpses of her strength in the last two seasons,Solo Levelingseason 3 is expected to fully showcase her true potential as an S-rank hunter.
Cha Hae-In mostly played a supporting role in the first two seasons ofSolo Levelingdespite being one of thestrongest hunters in Korea. Unfortunately, she has not received a true moment to shine, as she often gets overshadowed by other hunters, most especially Sung Jin-Woo and his formidable shadow army. However, based on the webtoon, fans have high hopes that she will finally receive what is due to her in the next season.
Cha Hae-In Is Everywhere in the First Two Seasons
She’s Visible but Still Lacking
Noticeably, the anime adaptation ofSolo Levelingfleshes out Cha Hae-In’s character more than the webtoon. Not only did she make her anime debut in the pilot episode of season 1, but she also appears frequently throughout season 2. These anime-original contents add layers and depth to her cold and aloof personality, as well asher growing feelings for Jin-Woo. However, it still isn’t enough to showcase her strength and power.
In fact, it’s rare for any hunter besides Jin-Woo to get the spotlight they deserve inSolo Leveling. This has led to ongoing debates among fans about who truly ranks asthe strongest S-rank hunterand how large the power gaps really are. With most hunters sidelined as the story unfolds and even stronger characters entering the picture, it becomes increasingly difficult to make clear and logical comparisons.
“I am still far from strong enough. There, I could only wait for others to rescue me."—Cha Hae-In
Going back to Cha Hae-In, many fans, especially anime-only viewers, were disappointed in her role in one of the most intense story arcs inSolo Leveling. She started strong, fighting against the mutated ants, going so far as to land thefinal blow to the Ant Queen. But just as she was gaining momentum, her involvement was abruptly cut short. Instead of witnessing the remainder of the raid like her fellow hunters, she spent its final moments unconscious and fighting for her life.
Solo Leveling Season 3 Could Adapt Cha Hae-In’s Fight With Jin-Woo’s Shadows
The Perfect Opportunity to Reveal Her Potential
Solo LevelingSeason 3 could be the perfect opportunity to finally putCha Hae-In into the spotlightand give her the true main character moment she deserves. If the next season adapts the Ahjin Guild story arc from start to finish, there’s no doubt that fans will witness Cha Hae-In’s long-awaited match against Igris and Beru, showing her true strength and abilities in the process. The same arc could also serve as her redemption after falling short during the Jeju Island raid.
Based on the manhwa, Cha Hae-In faces Igris in an intense one-on-one match. Instead of using her usual weapons, she opts for a backup sword from the Korean Hunters Association’s gym storage whileIgris wields the Demon King’s Longsword. As a master swordsman, she proves to Jin-Woo that she doesn’t need an S-rank weapon to win the match. Her win relies on her skills alone, instead of the weapon she holds.
Make no mistake, Jin-Woo never orders Igris to hold back against Cha Hae-In, and yet the S-rank hunter wins fair and square with just a spare weapon. While some fans may argue that Igris isn’t at full strength due to still being sealed, as Jin-Woo hasn’t fullyinherited the Shadow Monarch’s power, it’s still an impressive and well-earned victory for Cha Hae-In.
“I want to catch up with him and stand shoulder to shoulder with him. For that, I must become stronger."—Cha Hae-In to Sung Jin-Woo
When it comes to fighting Beru, Cha Hae-In still needs to grow stronger. On the bright side, defeating Jin-Woo’s strongest swordsman in a solo match showcases her immense potential to become an even more formidable hunter in the future. While it’ll be difficult forCha Hae-In to get stronger, given the conditions in the original manhwa, there’s always the possibility that she could step up and change everything inSolo Leveling: Ragnarok.
