There’s so much hype aboutSolo Leveling season 3, even though it’s not yet in production. Following the thrilling events that broke the internet in Season 2, many are eager to followJin-Woo’s journey even further. Apart from Jin-Woo, fans are also captivated by Cha Hae-In’s charm, wishing her to return to the screens as soon as possible. However, as much as fans would love to see Cha Hae-In, her role might be reduced next season.
Cha Hae-In is one of the fan-favorite characters inSolo Leveling. Her charm, wit, and swordsmanship never fail to impress the many fans who are rallying behind her. In the first two seasons, she received a lot more anime-original content than expected, making her a standout character. However, Solo Leveling season 3 might switch things up, affecting Cha Hae-In’s role in the process.
Why Cha Hae-In’s Role Might Get Smaller in Season 3
New Characters Will Receive More Screen Time
As the plot unfolds inSolo Leveling, new characters are bound to enter the playing field, regardless of whether they’re villains or allies. A number of international hunters will soon become relevant as Sung Jin-Woo’s presence becomes globally known. In addition, powerful enemies such as the likes of theFrost Monarch and the Beast Monarchwill stand in his way, as revealed in the manhwa.
While these new additions will take center stage, those characters who made an impact in the first two seasons ofSolo Levelingmay receive less screen time in season 3. Most of them peaked and received their moment to shine inthe Jeju Island story arc, fighting the mutated ants with their unique abilities, especially the S-rank hunters from Korea and Japan. Many fans learned to love and support them, but it might be a better idea to detach from them as early as now to avoid disappointment.
“You’re the only friend I have, Hae-In”—Sung Jin-Woo to Cha Hae-In
Noticeably,Cha Hae-In received several anime-original contentfrom the very beginning of the adaptation. She debuted in the pilot episode, and her presence was felt all throughout Seasons 1 and 2. However, as mentioned, new characters are bound to receive more screen time than the old ones in season 3, including Cha Hae-In, based on the events that follow in the manhwa.
The Plot Will Shift
Cha Hae-In’s Presence May Not Be Needed
Solo Levelingseason 3 is expected to take the story internationally. As Jin-Woo grows stronger and becomes even more popular, the plot will need a larger setting, integrating hunters from different parts of the globe. As the Monarchs put their plan in motion, the vessels of the Rulers coming from different countries will soon be in danger. It will be up to Jin-Woo to resolve this situation, leaving Cha Hae-In and the rest of theS-rank hunters in Korea.
Since hunters like Cha Hae-In have no other means to grow stronger unless they receive anupgrade from Norma Selner, undergo a double awakening, or become a vessel of a higher entity, her presence may not be as needed as it was before. Besides, Jin-Woo will soon establish himself as a one-man army that doesn’t need any help from other hunters. If he needed help, he would just summon his shadow army to use them instead of relying on hunters like Cha Hae-In.
“How could I ever tell him…I want you by my side until I draw my last breath?"—Cha Hae-In
Make no mistake though, Cha Hae-In’s presence will still be important in the upcoming season. After all, she eventuallybecomes Jin-Woo’s canon wife, so it’s only necessary for her to show up every now and then next season. Her role will remain the same: someone who will support Jin-Woo, albeit from a distance.
More Characters Will Be Sidelined
It’s Not Only Cha Hae-In
It’s an open secret that many hunters inSolo Levelingare bound to be sidelined. Apart from Cha Hae-In, other characters will also suffer the same fate according to the events in the manhwa. From theWhite Tiger Guild’s Baek Yoon-Hoto the Hunters Guild’s Choi Jong-In, hunter ranks would not matter anymore, as Jin-Woo grew stronger to the point no one could ever reach him anymore.
“It’s different when I’m with him. I feel good”—Cha Hae-In
All in all, Cha Hae-In’s role may be reduced inSolo Levelingseason 3, but it doesn’t make her less relevant. She will remain an important character in the series, as Jin-Woo will soon find peace and comfort with her. Regardless of whether the anime will sideline her or not, the fact remains that she becomes asignificant part of Jin-Woo’s lifein the end.
