It got to a point where Solo Leveling was actually competing with itself and breaking its own records, which sounds ridiculous but is completely true. Solo Leveling has some of the most liked episodes in the history of Crunchyroll.The series broke Crunchyroll servers on multiple occasions, and it is also the most popular anime on the platform, by far.

But, while the Crunchyroll records keep being shattered by Solo Leveling, there is one anime that it still can’t beat, and that is Frieren.
Solo Leveling Still Rated Lower Than Frieren
Frieren Is Rated Higher Than Solo Leveling On Most Popular Databases
When it comes to fan ratings for new anime, there is one that has consistently been ranked over Solo Leveling, and that is Frieren. When it comes to MyAnimeList, Solo Leveling only holds the 324th rank, which Frieren is rated #1, a rating many believe is actually overinflated. Even across platforms like IMDB, Solo Leveling is rated lower by the fans. Frieren holds a rating of 8.9, compared toSolo Leveling’s8.6.
This is unlikely to change anytime soon. Fans know very well thatSolo Leveling’spopularity will skyrocketwhen Solo Leveling Season 3 drops, but the same holds true forFrierenas well.
Fans Think Frieren Is Better Overall
The general opinion among the fans seems to be thatFrieren is the better anime overall. Then again, the fans who rate Solo Leveling very highly on Crunchyroll and tune in immediately to break the servers are also fans, and Frieren isn’t ever likely to accomplish what Solo Leveling did. They’re both amazing anime in their own way, but when it comes to complex storytelling, Frieren seems to be the overall winner among fans.
Solo Leveling Season 2 finished airing this year. Fans can watch the first two seasons of the series on Crunchyroll, and, in doing so, support the official release of the anime. So far, there isn’t much information out about Solo Leveling Season 3, but more information will be available later this year.
