This is a lot for one anime, the most this year, and by far. It’s unsurprising to see why many anime fans are upset at this sweep. Numerous fans believe that the Anime of the Year should’ve gone to none other than Frieren.

While Solo Leveling won Anime of the Year, many believe the anime that actually deserved the win is Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End.
Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End has become an iconic animewithin the community, and Frieren, the main character has quickly become a fan favorite. The story has moved many people with its melancholic themes. The action and animation also can’t be understated, and both are great in their own regard.
