In the Hunters Guild Gate arc,the eponymous guild’s A-rank huntersquad was sent on a mission to clear the dungeon. Unbeknownst to them, S-rank hunter Sung Jinwoo had also joined them as a miner. By the time it was revealed that the guild had underestimated the threat of the dungeon, it was already too late. As High Orcs cornered the A-rankers, Jinwoo saved the day, thanks to his godlike powers.
Sung’s battle with the dungeon boss, along with his hundreds of minions, was fairly one-sided. But what would have happened if Thomas Andre had been chosen to clear the Hunters Guild Gate alone? Would he have defeated the army of High Orcs?
Understanding the Hunters Guild Gate
A Top-Tier A-rank Dungeon
Hunters Guild Gate was an A-rank Gate of extreme difficulty that would have posed a challenge to even the best S-rankers. It was home to a race of red-skinned orcs, who are considered the strongest magic beasts of their kind. Unlike other magic beasts, these unique creatures have demonstrated intelligent behavior, including the ability to hold a conversation with humans. Each High Orc was almost as strong as an A-rank hunter, with the capability to strategize and contemplate every move they made.
The Hunters Guild Gate was filled with such magic beasts, but what made it extremely terrifying was theruthless and powerful dungeon boss, Kargalgan. The High Orc shaman was gifted with incredible magical powers that he used without any limit and with remarkable efficiency. He easily overwhelmed almost an entire squad of A-rankers and could have potentially killed them if Sung Jinwoo had not intervened.
Kargalgan was an S-rank magic beast, but that could be confusing considering the fact that S-rank magic beasts can have dramatically different power levels.Just for example, Esil Radiru, Vulcan, Ant King, and Kamish are all classified into the same category. While it’s complicated to accurately assess and compare each S-rank magic beast to rank them, it appears that Kargalgan probably was a somewhat average S-ranker. That should not be an excuse to take him lightly, considering the fact that even some S-rank hunters would have struggled to put him down.
Can Thomas Andre Clear Hunters Guild Gate Alone?
Despite Not Having the Numbers in His Favor, Thomas Andre Would Have Won
Thomas Andre is a National Level Hunterwith a ton of experience under his belt. He has fought many great battles in his life and has cheated death to triumph on each occasion. Perhaps his most memorable achievement has been his victory against Kamish, the first S-rank dungeon boss, whom he defeated along with four other brave hunters. Having faced such intimidating rivals, Andre understands the nature of the threat that Gates can pose better than most hunters and always takes his job seriously.

If Andre were to end up in the Hunters Guild Gate, things would have turned ugly for the magic beasts immediately. His incredible strength and blinding speed would have been a nightmare for the High Orcs, who would have struggled to land asingle blow on the National Level Hunter. Even in the rare cases that they did, Andre’s Reinforcement skill would have significantly strengthened his defenses to protect him from serious injury.
Since Thomas is also gifted with the power to inflate himself physically, he could have easily intimidated most orcs just with his presence. Andre’s biggest challenge would have been entering Kargalgan’s chamber, which was filled with hundreds of High Orcs. Afterdefeating the initial wave of magic beasts, he would have sensed what was coming. While hundreds of High Orcs would have collectively intimidated any other hunter, Andre would not have flinched.
Perhaps Andre’s biggest strength in Kargalgan’s chamber would have been Collapse. Using it, he could have easily sent a massive shockwave in every direction simply by smashing his fist into the ground. The power generated by Collapse would have been so devastating that it demolished every High Orc in its path.

Kargalgan could have taken advantage of a distracted Thomas Andre and attacked him using his magic spells when it was least convenient for the hunter. But the combined effect of Spiritual Body Manifestation and Reinforcement would have made all such efforts useless. Andre would have relished the thrill offighting and exterminating High Orcs.
Thomas could have also decided to end things more swiftly by going after Kargalgan first and using his death to ensue chaos among the magic beasts. Irrespective of the strategy, it would have been technically impossible for the High Orc shaman and his minions tostop the National Level Hunter. So, Thomas Andre would have easily cleared the Hunters Guild Gate alone.
