Life simulator fans who have put off tryingInZOIhave a golden opportunity, as the game is now seeing its first price cut since its early access launch on Steam. Many expectant fans have addressedInZOIas a legitimate challenger toThe Sims 4’s reign at the top of the genre, and while some have found the game lacking in content so far, the developers have plenty left to add before its full launch.

InZOIwas releasedin early access for PC on March 28 to impressive player numbers. Early on, many were enamored with the game’s true-to-life visuals and structured and orderly gameplay, but player numbers dropped off quickly following the early access launch. Many early adopters realized they had already experienced most of what the version at launch had to offer and began waiting for the release of additional content on the road to the game’s full release.

However, a well-timed price reduction may help to draw new players in. The game’sofficial Steam pageis currently listingInZOIat a 10 percent reduction, which drops it from its regular price of $39.99 to $35.99. That offer is only good through June 26, so players wanting to take advantage of the special deal and experienceInZOI’s realistic art stylefor themselves should pick it up before the sale comes to a close.

The price reduction could be a result ofInZOI’s dwindling player count. The game hit its all-time concurrent player peak of more than 87,000 on its early access launch date, but numbers have dropped off sharply since then to only a small fraction of the game’s initial popularity, which is a common occurrence for games released in early access. Player activity tracking from June 7-11 shows peak Steam concurrent player counts of between 1,500 and 2,000 on days during that period. However, following the price reduction, the numbers have gone back up significantly and are, at the time of this writing, above 3,300, marking the highest point on the game’s SteamDB chart since May 10.

The price reduction isn’t the only thing working in the game’s favor right now, as theJune patch forInZOIhas been released, introducing the title’s first major content update about two months ahead of what its roadmap had originally predicted. This update includes many changes to Zois themselves as well as the world they populate. A total of 175 new building items have been added, along with 29 new items for Zois to use. The functionality of the game’s denizens has also been changed, with the addition of family-building options like teen romance and non-marital parenthood and a revamping of the age progression, prison, and object interaction systems.
