Should You Hide King Arthur or Tell Caradoc in Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon

When Caradoc asks how you survived the plague, you only have two options. Either tell him about King Arthur saving you or feign ignorance about the spirit’s existence inside your body.

Option #1: Tell Caradoc About King Arthur

Upon hearing that a fragment of King Arthur exists inside your body, Caradoc will pull out his sword, push you to the ground, and drive his sword into your stomach. This is ascripted death event, and there is no way to fight off Caradoc and prevent him from doing this. Luckily, his goal isn’t to kill the player, however, but to destroy the piece of King Arthur that has parasitized your body.

Afterward, he will tell you that his mission in life is to find and destroy every piece of King Arthur that exists in the world. This is because King Arthur actually has the ability to come back to life, and has done so multiple times in the past, and will do so again in the future. However, every time he does so, the Wyrdness spreading across the world expands some more. If Arthur isn’t stopped and killed, this Wyrdness will overtake the world and destroy everything.

After the deed is done and Caradoc is satisfied that he has slain King Arthur, you will be allowed torest at a bonfire. King Arthur will appear, indicating that despite Caradoc’s efforts, he survived. He will be unaware of the dangers Caradoc speaks of and will only urge the player to seek out the truth in his journey.

Option #2: Hide King Arthur’s Existence From Caradoc

If you do not tell Caradoc about King Arthur, he will still explain his mission in life — to kill King Arthur and all of his soul fragments in the entire world, preventing him from ever reviving again. Then, you will be allowed to create a bonfire and rest. In this scenario, King Arthur will thank you for not telling Caradoc about him and then explain that he does not quite understand what Caradoc is talking about and to seek the truth in the world.

Both decisions will eventually lead to the same exact result.King Arthur’s spirit inside your body will survive and his promise of granting you immense power will hold. The only difference will be that if you select the first option, Caradoc will believe that he has fulfilled a part of his mission, but if you do not, Caradoc will not know anything.
