Mega Evolutions Are Returning to Pokemon TCG
According to PokeBeach, The Pokemon Company has warned tournament organizers that quantities of the new set’s pre-release kit will likely be affected by ongoing product shortages, resulting in fewer kits being available than usual. The warning comes just a few months after The Pokemon Company revealed itsplans to increase production of futurePokemon TCGreleasesafter players had their pre-orders of Destined Rivals canceled due to high demand. Despite the word of caution, organizers were told that future events may not be affected by similar shortages.
It’s no surprise that The Pokemon Company is preparing tournament organizers for shortages prior to the new expansion’s release, especially considering the rapid explosion in popularity thePokemon TCGhas enjoyed in the past few years. Surging demand has caused the prices of sets, boosters, and individual cards to skyrocket, with some fans pullingPokemon TCGcards worth hundreds of dollarsfrom single packs. Although pre-release kits will likely be scarce, hopefully, the Mega Evolution expansion’s full release will see enough cards printed for everyone to enjoy at a reasonable price.
