Thanks to a new leak, gamers might have an idea about when theXboxROG Ally handheld is going to launch and how much it could cost. There had been rumors of Xbox developing a handheld system to rival the Steam Deck and the Nintendo Switch 2 for some time, and it was finally confirmed during last week’sXboxGames Showcase during Summer Game Fest 2025. This system is being developed with the help of Asus, a computer manufacturer that had previously released its own portable gaming hardware in the form of the ROG Ally.
The Xbox ROG Ally handheld will allow players to take their full Xbox game libraries and the complete Xbox Game Pass collection with them on the go, along withtitles from third-party platformslike Steam, GOG, and Ubisoft Connect. This means that, because Sony has already released some of its biggest first-party titles likeGod of WarandMarvel’s Spider-Manon Steam, Xbox gamers will ironically be able to play many hit PlayStation games on the Xbox ROG Ally as well. The Xbox ROG Ally doesn’t have an official release date yet, but the initial announcement trailer said that it would be hitting stores sometime during the 2025 holiday season.

According to them, pre-orders forthe new Xbox handheldwill supposedly begin in August, with the full launch scheduled to take place at some point in October. eXtas1s also claims that, according to information they received from two European retailers, the white Xbox Ally model will be priced at €599 in that region, while the black and more beefed-up Xbox Ally X model will cost €899.
Xbox ROG Ally Rumored Release Date and European Prices
eXtas1s isn’t sure what the prices for thetwo different Xbox ROG Ally modelswill be in other territories like the United States, but the rumored European prices can be rounded to about $692 for the Xbox Ally and roughly $1039 for the Xbox Ally X. The differences in these two Xbox handheld systems lie in their processors and storage space, with the Xbox Ally sporting an AMD Ryzen X2A processor and 512 GB of storage and the Xbox Ally X being packed with an AMD Ryzen Z2 Extreme processor and 1TB of storage.
It should be pointed out that extras1s’s information about theXbox ROG Ally’s release dateand price hasn’t been officially verified yet, so gamers should take this news with a grain of salt until more concrete proof surfaces.
