In a post by the Korean websitePlayForum(and spotted byEurogamer),Stellar Bladedeveloper Shift Up has reportedly been given a dev kit for the Nintendo Switch 2, with the company already starting initial work to bring the title to the new console. This is part of the studio’s multiplatform strategy, as the recent release ofStellar Bladeon PCproved to be an excellent decision, with the game selling over one million copies on the platform in less than a week. The developers are reportedly working to optimize the title for the Switch 2’s less powerful hardware when compared to PS5 and PC, and no release window has been confirmed.

It was recently announced thatStellar Bladehad sold over three million unitssince its launch, making it no surprise when Shift Up confirmed that a sequel is in the works. While few details about the second game have been revealed, rumors indicate that it could be released as early as 2026. Alongside this, the studio is working on the upcoming action title codenamedProject Witches, which will reportedly feature RPG elements and open-world exploration.

There are plenty of excitingtitles coming to the Nintendo Switch 2this year, includingDonkey Kong Bananza,Kirby Air Riders,Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment,Pokemon Legends: Z-A, andMetroid Prime 4: Beyond. The console sold over 3.5 million units in its first four days, and given this groundbreaking success, more developers may soon be tempted to bring their games to the new hybrid console.
