Where those “rumblings” come from or how reliable they might be is unclear, but Corden seemed to believe that the studio could make an appearance at the upcoming showcase. Previous rumors suggested thatHollow Knight: Silksongwill appear at the Xbox Games Showcase, along with other big names likeNinja Gaiden 4, but there hasn’t been much mention of a Double Fine game yet. However, since Xbox owns the studio, the June 8 presentation could be the ideal time to reveal its next project.

While the company did heavily discountPsychonautson Steam for that game’s 20th anniversary, that likely wasn’t the extent of the “cool stuff” and “shenanigans” Double Fine promised. With the Xbox Games Showcase fast approaching, the time for additional news may be here before long, but the company has remained characteristically quiet, making it difficult to say anything beyond the shadow of a doubt.
While it’s uncertain if Double Fine will drop any news during the showcase, if it does, it will likely be a new IP.
