Resident Evil Requiemseems to be a revival of many important story elements in the franchise. The most obvious is that the game is returning to Raccoon City, which was nuked at the end ofResident Evil 3.Resident Evil Requiemwill also feature Grace Ashcroft, the daughter of Alyssa Ashcroft from the 2003 PS2 gameResident Evil Outbreak, as a playable character.
These are just a couple of the callbacks that were shown inResident Evil Requiem’s reveal trailer, which premiered at the recent Xbox Summer Games Fest. They might not be much, but for hardcore fans, it’s at least a massive revelation thatResident Evil Requiemis making good on a 23-year waitto bring the series back to Raccoon City. In keeping up with the theme of bringing players back, there’s one possible character who might appear inRequiem: Lisa Trevor.
Lisa Trevor Coming Back in Resident Evil Requiem Would Be a Terrifying Experience
Who Is Lisa Trevor in Resident Evil?
ManyResident Evilfans first encountered Lisa Trevorin the 2002 remake of the first game. According to theResident EvilWiki, she is said to be the first person to become a Progenitor adapter and was later abducted to become a part of Umbrella Pharmaceuticals' research project. Lisa is depicted as a creature with long legs, with one dragging a chain on the floor, and wrists cuffed together.
Lisa has powerful regenerative abilities that allowed her to survive her execution, and so she would go on to live in the Arklay Mountains. She reportedly died after a chandelier fell on her during theincident at Spencer Mansion, butResident Evilfans believe that she might have survived because her death wasn’t shown.
Resident Evil Requiem May Be Hinting at a Lisa Trevor Appearance
Resident Evil Requiem’s reveal trailershowed an unknown creature at the end, which fans likeJawmuncher on Twitterbelieve could be Lisa Trevor. Plus, before the creature jump scares the viewer, there are sounds of chains, which could be the ones cuffed around Lisa’s wrists and ankles. This hasn’t been confirmed, and Capcom will likely reveal more in the next few months until the game’s launch in 2026.
Given the fact that Lisa could have survived the attack at Spencer Mansion, it would make sense that she’s wandering around Raccoon City’s ruins. If she is, thenResident Evil Requiemmay have gained a terrifying antagonistthat can pose a huge threat to the player. In theResident Evilremake andResident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles, she strikes the player with her long arms, which can deal a ton of damage. This is why players must shoot her repeatedly to slow her down, even though she has regenerative abilities that disallow her from dying.
PerhapsResident Evil Requiemcould retain Lisa’s attack patterns and character design. At the same time, it could give her new abilities and even change her appearance as a result of the Progenitor virus progressing and potentially making her stronger. This would give players, especially those who played the earlierResident Evilgames, a brand-new experience with Lisa as they attempt to get out of Raccoon City. It would also be interesting to see if Lisa will continue to be a recurring enemy, or whether she will evolve into a final boss type of enemy that will finally die at the hands ofResident Evil Requiem’s rumored multiple protagonists.
Unlike the Ethan Winters saga,Resident Evil Requiembrings a renewed experience that also feels familiar to longtime fans because of the callbacks to previous games. More importantly, it will pushResident Evil Outbreak’s storyforward after two decades.
