TheResident Evil Requiemtrailer confirmedthat the new game will feature Grace Ashcroft, daughter of Alyssa Ashcroft ofResident Evil Outbreakfame, as one of the main characters. Grace is working for the FBI during the events ofResident Evil Requiem, and she is tasked with going to a hotel that was apparently the scene of her mother’s mysterious murder. Based on the trailer, Grace winds up getting captured and strapped to a table, but it’s unclear what exactly is going on.
Prior toResident Evil Requiem’s reveal, it was claimed that the new game wouldfeature Leon S. Kennedy as the main character. Leon was not obviously visible anywhere in theRequiemtrailer, but reliable insider AestheticGamer has confirmed that Leon is the “main” playable character inResident Evil Requiem. It’s also possible that Alyssa Ashcroft herself will be playable in flashbacks, a possibility touched on by AestheticGamer in their breakdown of theRE9trailer.
Resident Evil Requiem Alyssa Ashcroft Sequence May Be Playable
TheResident Evil Requiemtrailer shows brief snippets of Alyssa Ashcroftinvestigating the hotel where she was allegedly murdered. AestheticGamer said in a tweet that this sequence “may or may not be playable,” but if it is, that meansRE9technically will have three separate playable characters. There’s not enough to go on in the trailer to determine one way or another, but fans can at least count on Leon and Grace being playable inResident Evil Requiemwhen the new game launches on June 04, 2025.
RE9 Playable Characters
Resident Evil Requiem’s release date is only seven months away, and fans can count on Capcom to reveal more details about it between now and then. We know for a fact thatResident Evil 9will be atGamescom in Augustin a playable state, so one has to imagine that plenty more information about the game will be revealed then. And sinceRE9was the big announcement from Summer Game Fest, it wouldn’t be a stretch to assume that the game will make an appearance at The Game Awards 2025, which is also hosted by SGF creator Geoff Keighley.
