Hot off a playtest which saw nearly 2 million players jump into the action,Rematchis set torelease on June 19thon PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5. There is also a way to play the arcade football game3 days early on June 16th, and this ties into thedifferent editions ofRematchavailable for purchase. This guide will outline the additional content players can expect in these editions and help them determine whether they are worth their investment.
Rematch will be available on Xbox Game Pass on June 19th, but this is only the Base Edition.
Rematch Editions Compared
There arethree editions ofRematch, with all of them naturally containing the base game. Here are the prices listed onthe official site, but expect these tovarydepending on yourregion and preferred store.
Rematch Pro Edition
The Pro edition ofRematchwill contain:
None of these bonuses will grant players any advantage over other players. Everything is purely cosmetic.
Rematch Elite Edition
The Elite edition ofRematchwill contain everything from the Pro edition, as well as some extras:
There are two bonuses for pre-orderingRematch:
Are The Pro/Elite Editions Of Rematch Worth It?
Just likeRocket Leagueand other similar games,Rematchis ripe for incredible customization options, with players able to customize outfits and arenas. However, thecosmetic options available with the Pro and Elite editions aren’t great, with many of the Blazon cosmetics lookingfairly uninspired.
Thestandouts arearguably theAugmented Reality Cageand theGlitcher Trainers, but both of these are limited to the Elite edition, which isalmost double the price of the Base edition. The Captain Pass UpgradeTickets could prove to be worth itfor those who would go on to buy battle passes anyway, but until the contents and price of these passes are known, it’shard to tell if players are getting a good deal.
Of course, if players like all these cosmetics and have the money to spare, these editions can still be good.
However, themain reason for buying the Pro/Elite editionsofRematchis to gain access to the game on June 16th,3 days early, but thisonly works if players pre-order these editions. If players are buying the game at a later date, then these editions lose a lot of their value.
It’s unclear if players will still be able to pre-order the Pro/Elite editions after the 72 hours of early access have already begun, between June 16th and 19th. To avoid potentially missing out, make sure youpre-order BEFORE June 16th.
WithRematchbeing acompetitive multiplayer game, a 72-hour head start can make a difference early on, but in the long run, this won’t matter. It’s also worth pointing out thatplenty of players have experience from the various beta tests.
Conclusion
In summary,if players cannot wait to playRematchand want toimprove their skillsas quickly as possible without feeling left behind, then thePro edition for an additional $10 can be worth it, as long as it’s preordered before release.
Otherwise, players are likelybetter off waiting till the 19th for the Base edition, and once they are in the game, any spare money can be spent on other microtransactions that hopefully result in better cosmetics.
