The draconic Latios and Latias will be available inPokemon Unitestarting July 21, though additional details about how the fan-favorite legendaries will play in the MOBA title remain elusive.

Known as the Eon Pokemon, Latios and Latias first appeared inPokemon Ruby and Sapphireas roaming legendaries that players could pursue after becoming the Hoenn League Champion. Both Latios and Latias are Dragon and Psychic dual types, with some core differences that set them apart. Latias is the smaller red Eon Pokemon with slightly better defenses, and Latios is the larger blue counterpart with higher attack power. Though they are not the most powerful of their kind, the distinct appearances of Latios and Latias make them both stand out amongthe Hoenn region’s roster of Legendary Pokemon.

Afterthe arrival of Alcremie as a Ranged Support optionfor novice players to try out,Pokemon Uniteconfirmed that two popular creatures will soon follow. As announced byPokemon Uniteon social media, Latios and Latias will arrive on Aeos Island on Monday, July 21, as part of the game’s fourth anniversary festivities. Latios and Latias will join Blaziken, Sableye, Absol, Metagross, and Gardevoir on the roster of playable monsters from the Hoenn region inPokemon Unite. However, further details about what Latios and Latias can do inPokemon Unitematches, or what roles they will fulfill in a team composition, are unknown as of this writing. It is also unclear if Latios and Latias will be separate characters, or a two-in-one option for players to consider.
