Black Bolt and White Flare will be the eleventhPokemon TCGexpansion of theScarlet and Violetera to be released in Japan on June 6 and will introduce more than 172 cards. In addition to having illustrations focused onGen 5 Pokemon, one of the new features is the introduction of a new card rarity called Black White Rare (BWR). This rarity will be used to identify cards that have solid colored backgrounds, special designs, and elaborate patterns. Adding to the hype for the upcomingPokemon TCGexpansion, fans now know what some of its most coveted cards look like.
Poke Beach has revealedimages of the secret rare cards that will be in Black Bolt and White Flare. Fans are sharing the cards on social media, showcasing impressive illustrations such as those of thePokemon Black and Whitestartersand trainer cards featuring N, as well as Hilda, the female character players can choose at the beginning of the Gen 5 games. There are several illustrations of ex Pokemon, such as Whimsicott, Bouffalant, and Excadrill. The set also includes secret rare cards of Unova’s most powerful monsters, such as Meloetta, Kyurem, Zekrom, and Reshiram.
Pokemon TCG Fans Reveal Black Bolt and White Flare Cards on Social Media
While the number of illustrations revealed is significant, Poke Beach notes that the secret rare cards for Palpitoad, Whirlipede, Cottonee, Escavalier, Klang, Elgyem, Beeheyem, Accelgor, and Pawniard have not yet been shared. The website also says that Black Bolt and White Flare will see the return of Poke Ball reverse holos and Master Ball reverse holos cards and will feature god packs with “a bunch of secret rares.” God pack is a name popularly given toPokemon TCGbooster packscontaining only rare or higher-quality cards.
Fans outside Japan who plan to purchase Black Bolt and White Flare will be able to do so in a few weeks, as thePokemon TCGexpansion will arrive in the Weston July 18. It will be the fifth special set of theScarlet and Violetera released to fans in the West and the first localization of a main Japanese expansion. Until it is available, fans can purchase Destined Rivals, the newestPokemon TCGset that hit shelves on May 30 with 244 new cards to collect.
