The one thing that’s really neat aboutPeak, the indie title from Landcrab,Aggro Crab, and Landfall, besides the climbing mechanics, is the fact that the four maps of the biomes are procedurally generated, which means you’ll begetting a new island every 24 hours. This makes each daily “run” ofPeakquite different from the last, with bridges, rock formations, luggage, and pretty much everything else in new spots.

New Island in Peak, Explained

Switch It Up

So, if you started upPeakand went to the main menu, you probably noticed the ‘New Island In x’text at the top-right of the screen. This is basically just telling players that the maps you’re currently climbing will be switched out for new ones once the timer runs out. From our understanding, it seems that theisland inPeakwill shift around noon Chicago time (1 PM Eastern / 10 AM PT).

And because there’s a new layout every day, you can either choose to go on the map a few times until you accomplish it, or, if you’re not feeling the layout this time around, you can just wait until reset to check it out again. And even if you end up failing a run, you might still get rewarded with some cosmetic items for your climber, so at least you’re getting something for your failures (and also more insight into howPeakworks and the best ways to climb without losing stamina).
