It is currently unclear what these milestones will be, but they will likely require one to play games in order to obtain them. That said, each daily set of three Loot Boxes needs to be fully earned each day, so fans should be sure not to miss a day, lest they lose the chance at free rewards. These are also separate from the typical threeLoot BoxesOverwatch 2players can earn each week, meaning that gamers can easily earn a dozen over the course of this weekend.

Junkrat’s Loot Box Hunt seems to be a filler event to excite fans in the weeks ahead of theCompetitive Drives near the end ofOverwatch 2Season 16. While there is no confirmation it will be returning, these types of simple weekend Loot Box events could easily be brought back in the future in the downtime before other events, holidays, and major updates.

Players can expect some big changes when Season 17 launches on June 24. Beyond a Battle Pass refresh, Mythic skin for D.Va, and Mythic Weapon skin for Reaper, fans will also see Aatlis, a new map for Flashpoint, alongside reworks of the existing maps for the game mode. Map Voting in Competitive Play will also arrive, and the Summer Games will take place, ostensibly alongside another crossover.Stadium also gets some big updates inOverwatch 2’s next season, including Sigma, Junkrat, and Zenyatta as heroes, Esperanca and Samoa as maps, and new features including the Stadium Forge, an Unranked mode, and cross-play. All Season 16 Loot Boxes will be automatically opened before the new update, so there is no reason for players to hold on to any of the ones they earn from Junkrat’s Loot Box Hunt.
