Summary

The highly-rated action RPGStellar Bladeis seeing a new wave of players thanks to its recentSteam release. The extra content added to the new release is available for players on existing platforms, too, so there’s never been a better time to jump back in and try out some new ways of taking downStellar Blade’s many bosses.

For players who are new to the game, there are two main components to a build. First are the Exospines that players can equip. These are major gear pieces that give significant bonuses. There are twelve Exospines in the game (as well as upgradednew game+versions), and two can be equipped at once. Gears are the secondary component. These give minor passive buffs and up to four can be equipped.

Combining these gear pieces allows players to focus on different aspects ofStellar Blade’s combat, like Beta Skills, Burst Skills, and so on, and have many synergies when used in the right combinations. For players who want to know the best combinations to take onStellar Blade’s toughest fights, these are some overpowered builds that can wreck bosses.

Exospines:

Gears:

This first build won’t help players to melt boss health bars, but this combination offers the highest survivability of any gear inStellar Blade, making this build perfect for learning a boss fight. The Exospines improve perfect guard and dodge windows while also increasing shield effectiveness and reducing incoming damage.

The Gears further reduce incoming damage, and players can stack the 2-star and 3-star gears ofProtection/Melee Protectionfor a massive defensive buff. This will help a lot if players are having a tough time learning a particular boss’s moveset.

This build focuses on using Burst Skills frequently and taking advantage of the downed status on bosses to inflict high damage hits with skills. Burst energy is normally only recharged on a perfect dodge, blink, or repulse, but with the Burst Trance Exospine, players will also get some Burst energy from combo attacks above level 4. This can help a lot with sustaining Burst energy, and there are several Burst skills that will do significant damage to an enemy’s balance.

That means players can use Burst skills to knock the boss down, then exploit the damage bonus of theSuppression-Type Exospinewith combos and skills. The gears ensure that maximum burst energy is high and that charging is as efficient as possible, with Perfect Combat added for a damage boost at full health.

This build focuses on generating Beta energy and dealing big damage with frequent use of Beta Skills. The Beta Trance Exospine is essential, as this increases both charge rate and attack power for beta skills. Not only that, but there’s a chance that when a beta skill hits an enemy, players will enter a “trance” that allows beta skills to be cast without cost for a short time.

The Reflex Exospine improves perfect dodge and guard windows, making it easier for players to stay at max life for the damage bonus from the Perfect Combat Gear. Players can stack the 2-star and 3-star beta enhancement gears to make beta skills hit even harder, and one Beta Charge gear should be enough to sustain the energy needs of this build.

This build focuses totally on Skills, boosting the use of both Burst Skills and Beta Skills and using a combination of both types to overwhelm bosses. Using both the Burst and Beta Trance Exospines, along with Burst and Beta Enhancement and Charge Gears, will ensure both sets of skills perform near their maximum levels. Using this combination, players can use Burst skills toknock down bosses, then unload with beta skills for high damage.

This build focuses onimproving Eve’s melee combat abilities so that her regular attacks and combos can easily take care of bosses with critical damage. The Impact Exospine increases crit rate significantly, while the Chain-Type spine increases damage, crit damage, and crit rate for combos. The gears are focused on boosting crit rate, crit damage, and combo damage even further.

This means players can use their normal attacks to regularly inflict amplified critical hits. With the Impact-Type spine, players also get chain damage when they perform a critical hit, but this is more useful for taking on enemy mobs than boss fights. It does mean that this build is a great all-rounder for melee purists, though.

This build comes with increased risk, but offers some of the highest consistent damage output that players can achieve inStellar Blade. The Chain-Type Exospine and the Combo Attack Enhancement Gear boost Eve’s combo attacks significantly, but the biggest attack buff comes from the Double-Edged Gears. This Gear increases all damage, but also increases the damage that players take. Stacking the 2-Star and 3-Star versions gives a 45% boost to attack power, but also means players take 68% more damage.

That means that this version of the build can only be used successfully by experienced players, but to mitigate the risk a little, players can swap out the Suppression Exospine for the Reflex-Type. This will give easier perfect dodges and guards at the expense of not being able to exploit enemy knockdowns as easily.

This build is focused on keeping enemies in a downed state, allowing players to deal high damage while the boss is unable to respond, and it’s probably the most overpowered build inStellar Bladewhen used effectively. To make the most of this setup, players should focus on using the Beta Skills Shockwave and Shield Breaker to break the enemy’s stance and knock them down. Then, they can focus on outputting as much damage as possible with the extended downtime granted by the Suppression Exospine.

The Speed Increase Gears will help with dealing as much damage as possible with increased attack speed, while also building enough Beta Energy to consistently use the two skills and keep the boss in a knocked-down loop. This means that the damage bonus from the Double Edged Gears can also be used without worrying about the downside, since the boss mostly won’t be able to attack. If players can use the skill rotation effectively, this build will trivialize most ofStellar Blade’s bosses.
