A new tabletop wargame has arrived in a corner of theCourt of Fontaine inGenshin Impact, where members of the Special Security and Surveillance Patrol have set up. During the event, Travelers can select their game pieces and place them in the deployment zones.
When the challenge starts, their piece will lock onto targets based on their own traits. Once all the defending counterparts and installations on the opposing side are destroyed, players are awarded a victory. A total of 11 stages are available in theOperation Downpour Simulation event, and players can find the guide to complete each stage in this article.
Stage 1 - Frontline Formation
As this is the first stage of the Operation Downpour Simulation event inGenshin Impact, it is relatively easy. One of the strategies that can be used is:
Once the two Samachurls defeat the first Whopperflower, the Hilichurls will arrive at the opening and attack the Wooden Palisades.
Stage 2 - Thrust and Volley Combined
In the second stage, all the paths to the Wooden Palisades are blocked by obstacles. Since the obstacles are made of wood, pieces that caninflict Pyro to burnthem are the best option.
The enemies' Hydro Slimes will focus on attacking your Ruin Guards, making it safe for your Hilichurl Grenadiers to burn all the obstacles.
Stage 3 - Siege Strategies
The third stage of Operation Downpour Simulation inGenshin Impactwill now offer three types of pieces instead of two, expanding the strategies that can be used.
The enemies' Frostarm Lawachurl can only attack ground game pieces, which practically makes your Cryo Specters invisible. However, that’s only for a while, as the next in their defense line are Treasure Hoarder Pyro Potioneers. That’s why the Ruin Guard and Electro Samachurl will come in clutch and outnumber the enemies' pieces.
Stage 4 - Studies in Momentum
The opponents in this stage do not like Flying Target pieces, so they have placed Suppression Specialist Mek—Ousia right in the middle of the field. It has huge range and also prioritizes airborne game pieces.
Stage 5 - A Tactician’s Breastplate
Shackling Mine will hold some of the Hilichurls for a few seconds, but the remaining ones can still defeat the respective Suppression Specialist Mek.
Stage 6 - To the Trenches
A new piece is introduced in this stage: the Hydro Mimic Finch. Similar to theopen world ofGenshin Impact, the Hydro Mimic will unleash a shockwave that deals AoE Hydro damage once defeated.
Stage 7 - Grand Armies
There are enemies guarded by barricades in this stage, and some of those guard the Wooden Palisades. Use long-range pieces to attack those in the barricades, and short-range pieces to focus on the enemies' stronghold.
Stage 8 - More Firepower, Fewer Casualties
Barriers protect this whole stage, but you will have Hilichurl Grenadier pieces to help with burning all the obstacles.
Stage 9 - Like Mountain Raindrops
Starting on this stage, the difficulty spikes, with the enemy having a stronger plan and good pieces. While there are many enemies that can’t attack flying targets, there are Suppression Specialist Mek in the middle thathave a large AoEand will strike down a flying target in an instant.
Stage 10 - Like Peeling an Onion
Stage 11 - Dispersing the Morning Mist
This is the last and hardest stage of the Operation Downpour Simulationevent inGenshin Impact. With tight defense and great set-up from the enemies, you need to make sure all your pieces play their role perfectly.
