Capcom hasn’t announced anything just yet, but one of these potential remakes would be a particularly great fit for the Nintendo Switch 2’s new features.

The Switch 2’s GameChat Would Work Well with Resident Evil 5’s Co-Op
One ofResident Evil 5’s most defining features is its two-player co-op. In the original 2009 iteration of the game, two players could join forces asChris Redfield and Sheva Alomarvia local split-screen or online co-op. Though fans can play throughResident Evil 5solo, it’s widely regarded to be a vastly inferior experience, with the game’s companion AI feeling outdated even all the way back in 2009.
If aResident Evil 5remake happens in the near future, it needs to keep the original’s co-op, or else it would run the risk of losing a core part of the game’s identity. And if co-op remains a key feature, aResident Evil 5remake could really shine on the Nintendo Switch 2.
Hearing the criticisms of the original Switch’s lack of social features, the Nintendo Switch 2 is launching with a dedicated party system called “GameChat.” This feature is quickly accessible via the new Joy-Cons' “C” button, which will let up to 12 players join a voice call.
