Summary

In the world ofOne Punch Man, monsters are the main antagonists of the setting, the strength of whom is divided into five distinct categories. As the series has gone on to reiterate multiple times, the threat that these enemies pose is the defining trait of which Disaster Level they belong to, which can range from being a danger to an individual to being strong enough to threaten humanity at large.

To combat these foes, the heroes ofOne Punch Manare similarly put into their own categories, which roughly equate to the Disaster Levels for the monsters. Of course, the strongest hero in the world is Saitama, though he is always hilariously kept below the highest rank ofS-Class in the Hero Association. However, if he were a villain, let’s take a look at what his potential Disaster Level could be.

One Punch Man

Strongest Category

Disaster Level God

Before we can cement what tier Saitama would be, let’s first talk aboutall the Disaster Levels in the series. As a broad definition, these can be defined as the categories that all threats are classified into depending on how much of a danger they pose to society. As stated earlier, they can range from being weak enough to be defeated by the weakest heroes to strong enough to sunder entire dimensions.

The base category is Disaster Level Wolf, which is composed of those who pose a threat to regular civilians at either an individual or small group level. After this is Tiger, which are those monsters that are powerful and durable enough to comfortably pose a threat to a significantly sized group of people. For Tiger Level threats, regular people have no hope of taking them down, requiring professional heroes to do so.

Disaster Level Demon is one of the most common in the world, and typically, heroes belonging to or below the A-Rank can’t take them on, since some on this level have been seen to fight well against those in the S-Class.Demon Level threats tend to pose a dangerto a large city and its population. After this are the Dragon Level threats, which can only be contested by those belonging to the higher tiers of the S-Class. These monsters pose a threat to multiple cities and require only the strongest individuals to defeat them.

There have been a few theories about those who stand at Disaster Level God, with only a handful of villains being confirmed to be around this level. These monsters are capable of wiping out all of humanity, and so far, it seems that Saitama is the only hero who is even remotely capable of going up against an enemy of this caliber. While Cosmic Garou was likely to be on this tier, only the mysterious being called God is confirmed to be on this highest Disaster Level.

So, What Disaster Level Could Saitama Potentially Be?

The Strongest Of All

Right off the bat, it’s impossible to consider Saitama at any tier below that of Disaster Level God. The series is named after his most recognizable trait, which is such an immense level of power that he usually defeats the strongest enemies in the setting, even those at Disaster Level Dragon, with just a single punch. This has likely made him the most powerful being in existence.

Through his hilariously grueling training routine, Saitama was explained to have broken his innate limiter, which has allowed him to reach heights that even the most powerful S-Class heroes or Dragon Level threats simply can’t contend with. Many of the attacks from his ‘Serious Series’ are powerful enough to eviscerate an entire planet with minimal effort on his part, as he was seen to destroy the entirety of Jupiter’s Moon, Io, with his Serious Table Flip in his fight with Garou.

I go to complain about the noise, and somehow my house gets blown up, so now I’m stuck trying to find my stuff by fishing around in a tide pool. I kinda feel like I’d rather just obliterate the whole planet.

At the close of the Monster Association arc, Garou received a boon from God and awakened his Cosmic Garou form, which was the only thing that could have ever stood up to Saitama at that point in the story. Of course, when Cosmic Garou was introduced, he was equally matched with the Caped Baldy, but their subsequent battle added even more of an element to Saitama’s already overwhelming power, which was his rate of growth. Because of this, Saitama was able to grow in strength at such a rapid pace that Garou simply couldn’t keep up.

Moreover, many fans believe that Saitama wasn’t fighting at full capacity due to him using only one hand the entire time, with the other being used to guard Genos' core. Keeping this in mind with his incredible growth rate, one wouldn’t be amiss to think that even Disaster Level God isn’t enough to encapsulate Saitama’s full power. By the end ofOne Punch Man, if he is to turn evil, there may just be a Disaster Level Saitama.
