7To Recruit Loki

To Recruit the Enemy of the Giants

WhenGod Knights Figarland Shamrockand Gunko first arrive at Elbaf, they immediately go look for Loki, the fallen prince of Elbaf. They come to offer Loki the chance to become a member of the prestigious God’s Knights.

So why Loki? The reason is quite simple. Out of every giant on that island, the strongest one has to be Loki. Not only does he inherit the blood of the Ancient Giants from his father—making him bigger and stronger than his peers—but he’s also the only one capable of wielding Ragnir, the legendary weapon of the giant race. Unfortunately for them, the prideful giant says no.

6A Show of Force

Showing the Might of the Holy Land

After Gunko summons God’s Knights named Sommers and Killingham and sends Shamrock back to the Holy Land, they proceed to wreak havoc on the island of Elbaf—more on this topic in the subsequent point. There are multiple reasons why they do this, one of which is to show their powers. Or to be more precise, to show the giants the might of the God’s Knights.

Giants are widely regarded as the most powerful race in the world, and with their towering size and immense strength, it’s easy to see why. Even so,the World Government, especially the World Nobles, see themselves as the true pinnacle of evolution. The God’s Knights’ infiltration of Elbaf—and the chaos they unleash—is a calculated display of strength meant to intimidate the giants. This is their way of saying: We are stronger than you.

5Kidnap the Giant’s Children

Hostages and Bargaining Chips

The God’s Knights may think highly of themselves, but even they realize that there’s no way three of them can take on every giant on the island. They could, however, prevent the giants from fighting them directly. And the way to do that is by kidnapping the giants’ children.

As predicted, the giant warriors won’t touch the God’s Knights as long as they keep the children as hostages. There is, however, another sinister purpose behind their action. The God’s Knights intend to turn the innocent children intoslaves for the World Government. They want to raise and train the kids so that they’ll become the World Government’s private super soldiers.

4Creating Chaos in Elbaf

An Assault on All Fronts

As mentioned earlier, the God’s Knights fully intend to cause chaos on the island of Elbaf as a show of force to the giants. They do so by usingKillingham’s Devil Fruit power, which allows him to put the children to sleep and turn the monsters in their nightmares into reality.

Since it only takes seconds for Killingham to produce these monsters, he can pop them up all over Elbaf. Because every part of the island is under attack at the same time, the giants are divided and busy protecting their own villages. The sudden attacks by the strange monsters basically turn the whole island into chaos, which is precisely what the God’s Knights want.

3Crippling the Giants’ Forces

An Effort to Weaken the Warriors

The God’s Knights want to employ the power of the giants, but if they can’t, then they should at least cripple the giants’ forces so that they won’t be able to opposethe World Governmentin the future. The giant warriors are undoubtedly powerful, but even they would struggle against numerous colossal creatures rampaging across their island.

This chaos also makes it easier for the God’s Knights to kidnap the children. In fact, once the giants find out that their children are being kidnapped, they become even more panicked and disorganized. This chaos clearly shows the biggest weakness of the current giant warriors, which is the lack of clear leadership. Even the most powerful warriors will eventually crumble if they fight with no direction.

2Burn the Libraries

Erasing the Giants’ History

After they manage to kidnap the children and cause chaos all over the island, the God’s Knights finally show one of the true reasons behind their arrival. In exchange for the children’s lives, they order the giants to burn their library down.

Elbaf’s library is one of the oldest libraries in the world, and it also contains every book that Saul managed to save fromthe burned-down Ohara library. It’s not an exaggeration to say that it is one of the most important libraries in the world. Not only that, but this library also contains the long history of the giant race. Burning down this library is akin to erasing the giants’ history and their culture, which is precisely what the God’s Knights wants to achieve.

1Forcing the Giant Warriors to Fight

To Become Slaves and Mercenaries of the World Government

Kidnapping the children and the other actions mentioned earlier are merely secondary objectives. The God’s Knights come to Elbaf primarily to force the giant warriors to fight under the World Government.

The World Government predicts that a major war will happen in the near future. A war that will engulf the entire world in chaos and destruction. The Marines will certainly be a part ofthe World Government’s military prowess, but they think that is still not enough. So now, they are in the process of recruiting powerful races and individuals to add to their ever-growing army.

As the most powerful warriors in the world, the giants can tip the balance of power in favor of whoever they side with in the upcoming war. That’s why the God’s Knights are determined to recruit them, and they are willing to do whatever it takes to make it happen.
