One Piece Has Many Amazing Backstories

Robin, Law, and Kuma Are Some That Immediately Come To Mind

One Pieceis quite a long series, and has a plethora of amazing characters. Not every character inOne Piecegetsa fully fleshed backstory, but those who do usually get incredible ones.

So far, Oda has presented a ton of amazing backstories, and there is often a heated debate among fans about which is the best one, when there really isn’t a concrete answer. It’s all opinions at the end of the day. However, there definitely are backstories that are more talked about than others in the series.

Nico Robin’s backstory has been one of the most loved backstories since its reveal all the way back in Enies Lobby. It quickly made Robin a fan-favorite character.

Trafalgar’s Law backstorywas revealed in Dressrosa, which added a lot to his character and is seen as one of the most tragic.

Oden’s backstory is widely considered to beOne Piece’svery best, and out of newer backstories,, Kuma is definitely among the best. It was revealed in Egghead and shook fans. It quickly became a fan favorite, and that’s even before it gets fully animated.

Oda Almost Never Drew Senor Pink’s Backstory

His Editor Was Move By It So Oda Added it Into The Manga

Among all the beloved backstories, one was definitely unexpected for many fans, and that is the backstory of Señor Pink. Señor Pink isn’t really a major character in One Piece, and mostly just acted asFranky’s opponent in the Dressrosa arc. As such, fans were not expecting him to have a tragic backstory. In fact, many fans were mocking his character design until his backstory.

Oda revealed in 2015that he, in fact, was not planning to draw the backstory of Señor Pink in the manga. However, his editor at the time was very moved by the backstory Oda wrote for this character. Due to how his editor felt about the backstory, it was decided that it would be added to the manga.

If the editor wasn’t so moved by it, it’s likely that this backstory would’ve just ended up being revealed in an SBS or maybe never. A few words could never have moved the readers like a full-fledged backstory, so it was definitely a good choice to include it in the manga.

After all, the chapter with Señor Pink’s backstory ended up being very popular, and many fans wouldn’t have fully grasped his character without it.

It really makes fans wonder how many other characters had backstories written for them without them ever making it into the manga.
