If there’s one question that’s plagued the minds ofOne Piecefans, it is who the next Straw Hat will be in the story. As fans know, despite being a Yonko crew, the Straw Hat Pirates aren’t complete just yet. One of the most exciting parts ofOne Pieceis seeing Luffy gain new crewmates on his adventure. In the East Blue, Luffy recruited his first four crewmates — Zoro, Nami, Usopp, and Sanji. Then, in the first part of the Grand Line, he recruited Chopper, Robin, Franky, and Brook.
Now in the New World, only one character has been added to the crew so far, Jinbe. Jinbe officially joined the crew in Wano but fans knew for a while he was going to join.
Since then, fans have been wondering who the next Straw Hat will be, and with every new arc, new options are added. The most popular candidate forthe next Straw Hatfor a long time has been Vivi, who could be considered an honorary member already.
Aside from her, fans believe Loki, Yamato, or Bonney also have a very good shot at joining. Nothing is impossible with Oda, and these are all highly plausible.

Gunko Has The Potential to be a Straw Hat
While many fans think of Vivi or Yamatowhen talking about the final Straw Hat, Oda introduced a character in Elbaf that, while not many expect it, could become a Straw Hat member - and that character is Gunko. Gunko is a Holy Knight, and is of course very powerful, and of course, a villain. But One Piece chapter 1149 revealed that she’s actually a victim of the Celestial Dragons and under mind control.

Right now, she is under Imu’s control. She seems to be acting against her own wishes and has a very important connection to Brook. It wouldn’t be impossible for herto become a Straw Hat member. Gunko was likely a former princess who got abducted by the Holy Knights.
Will Gunko be the final Straw Hat?
The Final Straw Hat is Probably Vivi
While it’s highly plausible for Gunko to become a Straw Hat Pirate, fans will have to see how her story evolves in Elbaf and if she even makes it.
For now,Vivi remains the most likely final member. After all, she has a major role to play in the story as seems to be Imu’s target. Fans don’t know why exactly that is the case. Vivi isn’t the strongest character, but she could potentially unlock a new ability when more is revealed about her.
