The God Valley Incident Changed The World
The God Valley Incident happened 38 years ago, and it involved the Rocks Pirates, the Roger Pirates, the Marines, the Holy Knights, and a Godhead. With so many big names gathering in the same place, it’s obvious that they were going to cause a massive incident.The Rocks Pirates went to God Valleyto find the treasures of the Celestial Dragons. Ginny leaked the information about the prizes to everyone outside the island, which attracted the interest of pirates from around the world.
The Rocks Pirates were lookingto get stronger, and eating elite Devil Fruits was the easiest way to do so. Big Mom was the first member of the crew to reach the Devil Fruits, but she could only rescue the Uo Uo no Mi, Model: Seiryu, which was later given to Kaido. The news of the Rocks Pirates' arrival spread like wildfire, but it wasn’t enough to attract the attention of Monkey D. Garp. In fact, Garp refused to take action until Kong told him about Roger being on the island.
Roger And Garp Teamed Up To Beat The Rocks Pirates
Garp went to God Valley with the purpose of fighting Roger, but he had a change of plans. Never in a million years would Garp have dreamed that he would have to team up with his biggestrival to take down Rocks D. Xebec. Garp’s alliance with Roger was solely to end Rocks' reign of dominance, so it ended immediately after they accomplished the task.
Following the defeat of the Rocks Pirates, Garp’s fame spread around the world. The World Government covered up Roger’s involvement, making Garp the hero of the entire incident. While Garp’s heroics were deserving of praise, there was another person whose actions went unnoticed.
Bartholomew Kuma Was The Hero Of The God Valley Incident
He Saves Countless Lives With His Power
Bartholomew Kuma was present on God Valley when the Rocks Pirates attacked. He was there as a slave cum prey for the Native Hunting Competition. Kuma was destined to die on the island, but he still had some fight left in him. He used his strength to escape from his cell and very nearly got off the island. Unfortunately, Kuma was beaten up by other slaves who wanted to live.The Celestial Dragons fed them liesand made them believe that they would live if Kuma was brought back.

However, Ivankov and Ginny told them nobody survived the Hunting Competition. Despite having the odds stacked against them, Ivankov was hopeful that they could still get off the island. In order to improve their chances of survival, Ivankov knew that they had to find the Devil Fruits. Kuma decided to give the plan a try and went with Ivankov to secure the Devil Fruits. After searching for a while, they found the Nikyu Nikyu no Mi and the Uo Uo no Mi, Model: Seiryu. The latter was taken by Ivankov, while Kuma took the Nikyu Nikyu no Mi.
Just when Ivankov was about to eat the Devil Fruit, Big Mom stopped him and took it from his hands. Fearing that Big Mom would steal the Nikyu Nikyu no Mi as well, Ivankov told Kuma to run and eat the Devil Fruit. Kuma obliged and gained the power of the Devil Fruit. With the Nikyu Nikyu no Mi, Kuma saved more than 500 people who were also on God Valley. If he hadn’t used his newfound strength, they would likely have been killed by the Celestial Dragons for their pleasure. It’s unfortunate that most people within the One Piece world will never learn the truth about Kuma and how he singlehandedly saved so many lives.
