Story Arc

Orange Town

Scopper Gaban was perhaps the most hyped character who fans had been wanting to see for years. The Elbaf arc officially introduced him into the story and has wasted no time in confirming just how powerful he is and why he’sconsidered to be an equal to Rayleighto stand alongside the Pirate King. Scopper damaged Sommers at the end of Chapter 1148, prompting many fans to believe that the two would fight. However, in just the starting panels of Chapter 1149, Scopper made short work of the Gods' Knight.

Long time no see.

Where everyone was expecting at least a little bit of a squabble, Scopper proved to be so powerful, even in his old age, that Sommers met a swift end in just a few hits. From here, Scopper ran to save the children of Elbaf but was tricked by Gunko, leading to his impalement by her arrows. Although this seems quite bleak, with Scopper falling all the way to the depths, Chopper followed him down, so it’s likely that Chopper will heal the Mountain Eater and get the details of how he managed to negate the Gods' Knight’s regeneration in the process.

Brook’s First Appearance

One Piece, Chapter 442, “Adventure in the Demonic Sea”

Ever since her very first appearance, fans have been theorizinga lot about Gunko’s true identity, since she was the only Gods' Knight who didn’t have the title of ‘Saint’ in her name. The theories ranged from her being a clone of Bonney’s mother, Ginney, to even being the mysterious first girl that Brook met upon being summoned to Namakura Island in the time skip. However, the truth about her origins and connections to Brook have finally been hinted at.

Brook?! Is that you Brook?!

Brook revealed that before he joined the Rumbar Pirates, he was a knight under the employ of a certain kingdom. The brief flashback in Chapter 1149 shows the silhouettes of a very young Gunko and Brook, implying that she may have been the princess of this kingdom or just some girl that the Rumbar Pirates knew, since their main goal was to spread happiness. If true, this could be a massive reveal for the story, since Gunko even seemed to briefly regain her composure, causing her to run to save Brook.

Reverie

Just as Gunko briefly regained her composure, she rushed to save Brook from his captivity. However, this plan was quickly thwarted in the most unexpected manner, since Imu managed to possess her and make their presence known all across the island. This has massive implications for theOne Pieceworld, since this marks the first time that Imu has made contact with someone who isn’t a Celestial Dragonafter Sabo and Cobra’s interactionwith them in the Reverie arc.

Mu will show you what it’s like to be dominated by God!

The eventuality of where this will go is impossible to know since it was such a sudden reveal. However, Imu has revealed that they’ve grown tired of the Gods' Knights taking so much time to complete their mission, since the Holy Land is seemingly crippled. By directly intervening on Elbaf, Imu has outright stated that they will take matters into their own hands, so the heroes are truly in for a massive and difficult battle.

Dragon’s Siege On Marijoa Seems To Be Working Very Well

He Finally Acts

Monkey D. Dragon has become one of the biggest memes in theOne Piececommunity despite clearly being set up as one of the world’s most important players. This is mostly due to his general inactivity during some of the most pivotal moments in the story, but now, upon taking possession of Gunko’s body, Imu has revealed that the siege he laid on Marijoa is working very well. Initially, it just seemed that the Revolutionary Army destroyed the supply lines for the Holy Land, but now, the situation has gotten much worse for the World Nobles.

Why are you loitering?! The Holy Land is in flames. We need reinforcements!

Imu revealed their frustration with the Gods' Knights because they’re taking too long while the Holy Land is burning. This shows that what started as a simple cut to the supply lines of the Celestial Dragons has now turned into a full-blown siege, and thatDragon is actively taking the fight to them. This is sure to be one of the most important events when it comes to kicking off the Final War, and Imu’s frustration shows just how much the World Government is hurting.
