AnOblivion Remasteredplayer highlights a neat way to circumvent Carry Weight by effortlessly hauling the corpse of a Storm Atronach across the full length of a dungeon. Despite being an impressive visual upgrade from the original game,Oblivion Remasteredis very much the same title that was released in 2006. Its gameplay has been polished, and its combat has undergone a complete rebalancing, but the same logic that once applied inOblivionstill applies to Virtuos' remaster.
When players besiege the gates of Oblivion, explore Ayleid ruins, or conquer bandit strongholds, they tend to come across some valuable weapons and armor. While the quality gets raised as theylevel up inOblivion Remastered, the weight of the items also increases. Ebony and Daedric are some of the heaviest items that players can haul inOblivion, which in turn limits how much money they can make per dungeon delve.
However, as shown by Leyvaiathan’s video on the main subreddit forOblivion, there is a way for players to completely remove Carry Weight as a factor. By stuffing the corpse of a Storm Atronach with their heaviest loot, and dragging it across the dungeon, they can ignore the Encumbrance mechanic altogether. Given that Storm Atronachs only spawn at higher levels, fresh adventurers are advised to useother enemies inOblivioninstead.
Oblivion Remastered Player Shows a Way to Ignore Carry Weight
While any corpse will suffice from a technical standpoint, there are only three viable choices apart from the Storm Atronach: the Slaughterfish, the Rat, and the Skeleton. While the Slaughterfish and the Rat are both considered light creatures, the Skeleton and the Storm Atronach have corpses made out of several segments, most of which are significantly lighter than the other two alternatives. This makes them ideal containers tostore one’s loot inOblivion Remasteredwhen attempting Leyvaiathan’s method.
After a certain point, gold stops being a factor inOblivion Remastered, especially if the Hero of Kvatch dabbles in Alchemy. Gathering cheap ingredients, such as grapes and tomatoes from the fields of Skingrad, can easily net thousands of gold for an expert alchemist. However, in the range between Level 10 and Level 15, having a reliable way to haul gear can give the player a big advantage – at least when it comes to convenience. Thanks toAlchemy inOblivion Remastered, players can also create powerful potions that stack the Feather effect, which is another popular method to circumvent Encumbrance. The ingredients needed for an easy Feather potion are Flax Seeds and Sacred Lotus Seeds, with the latter requiring a journeyman level of Alchemy.
